I would say to seriously consider all your options for donating items before considering this Habitat Restore. If you have home interior items know that side of the store is literally overflowing because the manager just takes absolutely everything even though there’s no place to put it. The pictures I uploaded are on Sunday morning after a recent storm that came through the area, and you can see all the furniture that was left outside in the rain, Saturday night and all day Sunday. It’s all completely ruined. Is that what you want to happen to your donated items? This store is in desperate need of new management to sell down their current inventory, reduce the ridiculous pricing (the prices are so high they always some sale going on), and be more discretionary on the donations they accept.

The pricing here is absurd. For example, I found a used Costco brand frying pan for 34 dollars, a used flour sifter for 22 dollars, and several Big Lots store brand fake succulent arrangements for up to 14 dollars (more than the new price at Big Lots!). I overheard another group in the store who were also suffering from sticker shock. The staff was lovely and I would consider returning if they worked on their pricing. For now, I’ll stick to the Restore in Brevard, where a used coffee mug doesn’t cost 6 bucks.

They have two great buildings the one to the left is like a hardware store, washers, doors, fence, trim, and crafts and one to the right is a two-story store with furniture, clothing, pots pans, antique jewelry. The pictures below that I posted is a piece of artwork I created out of scraps I purchased there and donated to the hardware store on the left. (Soon as you go in the door to the left it is sitting in their craft corner on the top shelf) Tell the manager Marcel, Aimee sent you. She's the BEST!

Two very different buildings, run very differently and it shows. The smaller building is the home improvement side full of tools, appliances etc. Everything is organized, clean and very walkable. The 2 story building is interiors with furniture, housewares, etc. This side is a VERY poorly managed store. At any given day the parking lot is packed with furniture often spending days or more exposed to heat or rain, because the director won’t say no to donations. This treatment of donations is a disservice to to the folks who make donations. The amount of clutter in this building makes the store not ADA compliant so if you have mobility issues it’ll be hard to get around. The store is always having 20-50% off the entire store because the prices are too high. The upstairs now has clothing, which who says ā€œI’m gonna go shopping for clothes at Habitat,ā€ but this makes an already cluttered store worse. They’ve been looking for a store manager for over a year, and it shows. I’ve heard the director say to folks that nobody wants to work, but there’s 5 or more folks scurrying around upstairs, which is an extremely disrespectful statement to make in front of your employees who are working hard.

That being said, the other employees in both buildings are always nice and helpful when you ask for it. There’s some crazy items that get donated so it’s always an interesting browse, but the store needs change,...

Leaving one star because it won't allow a zero star. Don't waste your time coming here. The home improvement side isn't too bad (other than things marked as "vintage" that clearly are not) but the furniture building is ridiculously overpriced. If you look back a few reviews you'll see a photo (from two weeks ago) of a tent out in the parking lot...its still there. There was furniture piled in and around it with no real protection from the weather (and its POURING rain today). Even the items "on sale" are still overpriced at the sale prices. The entire store needs to be cleared out at 75% or more to make it shoppable. There is so much piled in there it isn't CLOSE to being ADA compliant. If you look around a little you can see the problem...people looking up things online for prices. Give me a break....it's a RESALE store and they got all this for FREE but they're putting RETAIL prices on everything which explains why they have so much stuff. They need new management that will stop trying to run it as an "upscale boutique" and get back to reality. By the way, when we were there, the place REEKED of a strong chemical smell (sort of like Clorox and bathroom cleaner) probably from having to clean the stuff left out in the weather. It was so bad we had to leave because our eyes were burning. Unless you're looking for the possibility of moldy furniture, I probably wouldn't shop...

Strange experience at the reStore today…We frequent the Asheville and Weaverville locations so drove over to see what the Hendersonville store is like. Lol. Prices were very high 🧐. Saw a personal blender, figured it was $3-$5…Nope $35. Oh well I got a few books, some pants that were $4 and a few other things. My daughter had asked how much a beanie baby was and was told it would take at least ten minutes to price it. Okay I guess? When it was time to go I stood at the counter for about five minutes before I rang a bell that was on counter. A customer behind me said the guy was outside. He eventually walked in and spoke to someone sitting on a chair near the counter. That person worked there! So I’m standing there all that time and they couldn’t say Hi or it’ll be a sec or anything at all. Cashier guy with a beard. comes around corner, says nothing . No hello. No excuse me for the wait. Nothing Holds up the beanie baby and says $6 like he was irritated. I say no thanks. And he silently rings the items up. Then hands me the pants and asks me to take the hanger off. WTH. Asks me if I want a bag for five books. Ummmm yes? Tells me the total. I pay. Want a receipt? Yes. And nothing. What a jerk. I don’t ask for much. A hello and a thanks. That is too much to ask for at the reStore apparently. Long story short…prices too...
