This place is not a "seafood restaurant", it is a bar that serves really awful food, especially really awful seafood. I can only guess that the 5 star ratings are from people who have never lived on the coast and don't know what good seafood is supposed to taste like. It could also be that they like the bar and rate the food as highly as the drinks. But the food we were served today for lunch was nothing short of disgusting. It was the worst food I've ever been served in a restaurant and neither of us ate more than half our meal. We were seated at a table that was totally sticky, which was our first clue about quality. I ordered the grouper fingers and a loaded baked potato. The one thing I am sure about is that fish was NOT grouper. It was not the right color, texture, or taste to be grouper. I spent much of my lift living in Florida and ate more than my share of grouper while there. It ranged from fresh caught and cleaned to purchased at a fish market that had their own fleet to higher end restaurants to rowdy grungy beach bars. It never disappointed. Grouper is not a pure white flaky fish. It has firm textured flesh that ranges from red to off white. What I got looked identical to Captain Ds batter dipped pollock all the way down to the batter (who batters grouper???) except the Captain Ds would have been much better. It was so greasy, and the grease was at least a few days old, I could only eat half of the appetizer portion and that made me sick. Literally. The hush puppies were so hard I could not break them open. The baked potato had clearly been cooked hours earlier and was discolored and dry. It was served with butter and sour cream served in plastic cups and were were liquid presumably from sitting under heat lamps. My husband ordered clam chowder and a burger and fries. The chowder was cold and not as good as Progresso in a can. The burger was just ok, the fries were cheap crinkle cut frozen and tasteless and fried in old grease. I shudder to think who was in the kitchen cooking. Considering the size of the bar, I am guessing this is more of a watering hole. Since we were there mid day for lunch we didn't have drinks but they must be better at that since there were many more people at the bar. This was a total waste of $45.00. If you want to eat decent seafood I highly recommend that you go anywhere...
Read moreI had the most awful experience I ever had at any restaurant in my seventy years of living on this earth. We went to Moby Dickies as a group, and when I went to put my name on the list, right off the bat, the hostess/mgr/part owner had a very negative attitude and said they don’t like groups coming in because they can’t seat everyone at once. I should’ve just told my group that we’re not wanted and go somewhere else but I thought I could lighten her up a bit and said no problem, we would sit at different times. Well, she wasn’t done keep repeating that they don’t like big groups and got angrier and angrier but finally put us on the list. When I came back to the outdoor seating area, a couple of us from the group were sitting at one of the two empty table so I set at the other one. It wasn’t a second later same woman who was at the hostess desk came screaming at me at the top of her lungs saying “that is not your table, you’re being pushy, if you don’t stop I’m not giving you a table”. And me again hoping she’ll calm down, apologized and try to explain to her that I thought it might be one of our tables and that I’m moving, she then went on by yelling “if you don’t stop arguing with me you’re not getting a table!” I thought about leaving right then and there but we are all elderly people, most of us are over seventy-eighty years old, it would’ve been hard on us all to leave and go to another restaurant. This woman approached me again while I was waiting for the second table to open up but I ignored her because I knew all she wanted to do was to yell and argue and threaten me with no table. If that wasn’t enough, she walked around the restaurant, telling other patrons about how awful I was and she even stopped a few from my group when they arrived and told them lies about what happened. She’s lucky she’s not getting sued for defamation of character. It was very embarrassing, it ruined my whole night. I didn’t order anything, just socialized with my friends and left very upset. I know I won’t be back to this awful place again and I don’t have anything nice to say about Moby Dickies anymore! PS: we asked the employees but we couldn’t get a name for this woman maybe because the fear of...

Review:
My recent visit to the lakeside restaurant was an absolute delight! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the breathtaking views of the shimmering lake, creating a serene and tranquil ambiance. The combination of incredible scenery and exceptional service made for an unforgettable dining experience.
Let's start with the food. I had the pleasure of trying both the chicken sandwich and the peel off shrimp, and I must say, they were fantastic! The chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked, with juicy and tender chicken nestled between soft, toasted buns. The flavors were well-balanced, and the accompaniments added a delightful tanginess. The shrimp, on the other hand, were succulent and cooked to perfection. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the dish was beautifully presented. It's clear that the culinary team takes great pride in their creations.
Speaking of service, it was truly exceptional. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was superb. From welcoming me with warm smiles to providing helpful recommendations, their professionalism and genuine care for the guests were evident throughout. The waitstaff was prompt, ensuring that my needs were met without being intrusive. It's clear that the restaurant values its customers and strives to exceed their expectations.
The lakeside setting added an extra touch of magic to the overall experience. The restaurant's strategic location allows diners to enjoy panoramic views of the serene lake, creating a serene and romantic ambiance. It's the perfect spot for a relaxing meal or a special occasion, as the tranquil surroundings enhance the dining experience.
