I decided to try this restaurant on the recommendation of a few people. I am so impressed.

  1. Service was really good. The wait staff was very friendly and positive. My server Allie made nice recommendations. Managed my drink refills very responsively and was friendly and good at her job. I had interactions with several other members of their staff and everyone was helpful, polite and positive. I left feeling very welcomed and like I would love to come back again.

  2. The food surpassed my expectations. I had a harvest salad, poutine and fish and chips. Turned out to be way too much food, but I planned to have some for leftovers. The poutine was spectacular. Usually poutine is drowned in gravy at the top leaving the top soggy and the bottom dry. These were still crispy and coated in an even light coat of flavorful gravy. There were small bits of short ribs and cheese in the gravy and the whole thing was delicious. The salad I ended up taking home so I haven’t eaten it yet, but it looked marvelous. The fish and chips was great. It was one large filet of fish. The fish was moist and tender. The batter was clearly prepared by someone who knows something about cooking. It was flaky and light, not dense like some places. This was one of the best fried fish experiences I’ve had. Overall the impression I got is that someone designed the menu with a lot of thought and care and that the food is prepared with intention. It’s not a haphazardly crafted menu. Clearly someone here has a passion for good food and it’s reflected in the choices they made preparing the menu and in the way it’s executed.

  3. the atmosphere is best described as an upscale diner experience. It feels like a family restaurant, like a comfortable trendy cafe. Nothing is too pretentious, so it’s suitable as a casual place to eat, but it doesn’t feel cheap. They have booths and tables. It’s clean, pleasant and feels warm and inviting.

Overall, I’m looking forward to coming back and trying other items on their menu. Dining here felt like it would easily become a regular in my rotation of favorite places. I trust this restaurant more than most places I eat. To me this felt like a place where they would treat me as a customer with the same care that they treat their food. Nice...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lacoy, a charming restaurant located in Hendersonville, Tennessee. From the moment I entered, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that made me instantly feel at home.

The interior of Lacoy is tastefully decorated, combining rustic elements with modern touches. The lighting is soft and the seating is comfortable, making it the perfect place for an intimate dinner or a gathering with friends and family. The restaurant also boasts a lovely outdoor patio area, which I can imagine would be delightful during the warmer months.

Now, let's talk about the food. Lacoy offers a diverse menu with a variety of options to suit any palate. Whether you're in the mood for classic American cuisine or craving international flavors, you'll find something to satisfy your cravings here. I had the pleasure of trying their signature dish, the Lacoy Burger, and it was absolutely delicious. The patty was perfectly cooked and juicy, topped with a generous amount of cheese and accompanied by a side of crispy fries.

The service at Lacoy was exceptional throughout my dining experience. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were happy to offer recommendations and ensure that all of my needs were met. The attention to detail and the genuine care they showed for their customers truly elevated the overall dining experience.

In terms of pricing, I found Lacoy to be reasonably priced considering the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. The portion sizes were generous, and I left feeling satisfied and content.

Overall, Lacoy is a hidden gem in Hendersonville. It's a place where you can enjoy delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend paying a visit to Lacoy if you're in the area. You won't be...

So I absolutely love poutine and found this restaurant via a Google search. I have passed it plenty of times, but we thought it was a Mexican Restaurant and my husband already has a favorite in Hendersonville. However, upon viewing the menu and learning poutine and fish and chips were specialities there, going was a no brainer.

My husband and I ordered the poutine with short rib gravy as an appetizer. The fries were crisp. The gravy was meaty, hot and right on point(it was 25 degrees outside and the restaurant was cold), and savory. It had excellent flavor and decent size pieces of meat. There were even fried onion straws on top. It was awesome!

I ordered fish and chips for my meal. They were awesome. The fish was huge, batter was well seasoned and it was the perfect mix of crisp outside and flaky moisture inside. I used the remaining poutine gravy for my fries! It was awesome. The only drawback, in my opinion, was the slaw and hush puppies. They did not stand a candle to the rest of the meal. I absolutely love hush puppies (I'm originally from deep Alabama) and it is something we have mastered back home. These were almost too dense. It was a weird texture. However, I would most definitely ordered the fish and chips again.

My husband ordered meat loaf for his entree. It was a huge portion, but extremely adult. It was topped with brown gravy and not a tomato based sauce. It was heavy on the rosemary/thyme as well. I don't like meat loaf, but I tasted it for the seasoning. I won't pass judgment on it, seeing as how I don't eat it. I will say that my husband said he probably wouldn't order it again.

Either way, I will most definitely return for the poutine and fish and chips. That is why they...

My wife's sister told us about this place and she really had a lot of good things to say about it. I took my wife and son here for lunch. The wait wasn't long but they were busy for the time of day, it seems like it is a popular restaurant right now. Our experience with the main dishes deserves a 3 star rating, but I'm giving them four because first, their poutine was fantastic (like seriously, I'd go back just for this), and the staff was nice. Poutine is a canadian dish that has french fries and melty cheese curds topped with gravy. The dish is usually topped with a basic brown gravy, but they used a gravy from the broth of a beef roast, it also had fried onions, best poutine I've ever had. For the main dish I had the fish and chips, and I unfortunately wasn't too impressed. The filet wasn't fried long enough or something because the breading wouldn't hold together and was almost soggy. The other issue was that there was only one filet, and it wasn't much bigger than filets I've had from other restaurants that gave more than one filet with the dish, which didn't seem fair for a dish that cost $15.50. The flavor of the filet was great despite the other issues, the hushpuppies were fantastic, and the fries were also very good. My wife got the firecracker sandwich or something, and she wasn't a huge fan. However, I didn't try it, so I'm non basing my review off of her dish. I would give the restaurant another shot, mainly for more of the poutine, but we wouldn't get the same entrées.

Quickish review: though took a bit (20-25 min.) to get seated on a Wednesday night (around 7pm), the overall experience was excellent. If it wasn't for the great tasting/scratch looking preparations, I might have docket the food for price...this place certainly met the expectation and performed well. Our server (believe the name was Austin) was friendly and fairly attentive to our needs. As previously mentioned, fairly busy night and got what we needed in good time. Of all the items ordered around the table, the highlight was the Rueben!!!! The corned beef was excellent. I wish it was my order, and my wife almost got another dish but very glad she ordered this. Very easily considered top Rueben experience to date! My fish and chips were very good. Not on par with the aforementioned dish, but seemed to be hand battered and the "chips" were a good rendition...gotta have the malt vinegar with it. Coleslaw was a little bland, but better that than sweet. Daughters each had a burger. Very fresh tasting, and the children portions were very good. Definitely worth it in my book. Overall, a vist well having, ans can see us partaking again...and explore more of the menu...and also would like to know more about the care that goes into the dishes. Chef, can we chat sometime!?
