I decided to try this restaurant on the recommendation of a few people. I am so impressed.
Service was really good. The wait staff was very friendly and positive. My server Allie made nice recommendations. Managed my drink refills very responsively and was friendly and good at her job. I had interactions with several other members of their staff and everyone was helpful, polite and positive. I left feeling very welcomed and like I would love to come back again.
The food surpassed my expectations. I had a harvest salad, poutine and fish and chips. Turned out to be way too much food, but I planned to have some for leftovers. The poutine was spectacular. Usually poutine is drowned in gravy at the top leaving the top soggy and the bottom dry. These were still crispy and coated in an even light coat of flavorful gravy. There were small bits of short ribs and cheese in the gravy and the whole thing was delicious. The salad I ended up taking home so I haven’t eaten it yet, but it looked marvelous. The fish and chips was great. It was one large filet of fish. The fish was moist and tender. The batter was clearly prepared by someone who knows something about cooking. It was flaky and light, not dense like some places. This was one of the best fried fish experiences I’ve had. Overall the impression I got is that someone designed the menu with a lot of thought and care and that the food is prepared with intention. It’s not a haphazardly crafted menu. Clearly someone here has a passion for good food and it’s reflected in the choices they made preparing the menu and in the way it’s executed.
the atmosphere is best described as an upscale diner experience. It feels like a family restaurant, like a comfortable trendy cafe. Nothing is too pretentious, so it’s suitable as a casual place to eat, but it doesn’t feel cheap. They have booths and tables. It’s clean, pleasant and feels warm and inviting.
Overall, I’m looking forward to coming back and trying other items on their menu. Dining here felt like it would easily become a regular in my rotation of favorite places. I trust this restaurant more than most places I eat. To me this felt like a place where they would treat me as a customer with the same care that they treat their food. Nice...

Read moreSo I absolutely love poutine and found this restaurant via a Google search. I have passed it plenty of times, but we thought it was a Mexican Restaurant and my husband already has a favorite in Hendersonville. However, upon viewing the menu and learning poutine and fish and chips were specialities there, going was a no brainer.
My husband and I ordered the poutine with short rib gravy as an appetizer. The fries were crisp. The gravy was meaty, hot and right on point(it was 25 degrees outside and the restaurant was cold), and savory. It had excellent flavor and decent size pieces of meat. There were even fried onion straws on top. It was awesome!
I ordered fish and chips for my meal. They were awesome. The fish was huge, batter was well seasoned and it was the perfect mix of crisp outside and flaky moisture inside. I used the remaining poutine gravy for my fries! It was awesome. The only drawback, in my opinion, was the slaw and hush puppies. They did not stand a candle to the rest of the meal. I absolutely love hush puppies (I'm originally from deep Alabama) and it is something we have mastered back home. These were almost too dense. It was a weird texture. However, I would most definitely ordered the fish and chips again.
My husband ordered meat loaf for his entree. It was a huge portion, but extremely adult. It was topped with brown gravy and not a tomato based sauce. It was heavy on the rosemary/thyme as well. I don't like meat loaf, but I tasted it for the seasoning. I won't pass judgment on it, seeing as how I don't eat it. I will say that my husband said he probably wouldn't order it again.
Either way, I will most definitely return for the poutine and fish and chips. That is why they...
