Absolute garbage experience.
Walking in, you're greated by oversized cell phone style ordering kiosks, with no option to talk to a person or see a menu. The kiosks are dirty, unresponsive, and lack the detail of a physical menu. Extremely unpleasant to use, and I'm a tech junkie. To top it off, the kiosk ASKS FOR A TIP!?! Am I tipping the kiosk for serving myself??? This ignorance has to end. The guy working drive through was actually helping a few giggly young ladies that just graduated high school that night with their kiosk.. hand delivered their food and hung out at their table for a while. I had to get my own food from the counter when it finally came.
On to the tables.. half of the dining room was blocked off. My assumption is they didn't want to have to clean the full dining room late evening. Trouble is, ALL of the open tables were dirty. No one cleaned a table until we had finished and were leaving.
2 customers that came in after us received their food first. Thought maybe it was so our food would be hot and fresh. It was not. Chili 5-way was hardly warm, and the spaghetti was undercooked having inedible hard bits throughout. The chili tasted horrible too. This use to be one of my favorite meals. Fries and burger were barely warm as well. This whole order sat, not even under a heatlamp. Maybe because I didnt tip the kiosk???
This place use to be an institution. Consistent and tasty diner food. The food was bad, the store was bad, the service was bad.. the whole experience was irredeemable. I would've told a manager, but i think he was too busy getting...
Read moreI was absolutely horrified on 6/10/2020 (around 6pm) when I went inside to pick up my order.
As I stood there over the course of 15 minutes, I witnessed the man making the burgers touch their face multiple times, while their mask was below their chin (that’s not how masks work).
The small, brunette woman dressing the burgers had only one glove on her right hand that she NEVER changed while I was there (nor washed her hands), and with the ungloved (left) hand she touched her face and moved her hair off her forehead an innumerable number of times.
I don’t think I witnessed one person wash their hands during the entirety of my being inside that place. Never even heard running water.
I got my food and just threw it out because I couldn’t stomach the idea of eating it.
I paid for it because I tried to convince myself I would get over it, but as someone who used to cook for a living I have never witnessed such disregard for basic sanitation as I did in those 15 minutes. Not in my 8 years in restaurants.
Trust me. I get it’s hot. I get you’re exhausted, but that was beyond inexcusable. They failed to even adhere to the most BASIC rules of health code.
Don’t eat here if you don’t want to get sick. I sure as heck won’t be.
-Managers: retrain your employees and fire whoever was the manager there on Wednesday 6/10/2020 around 6pm. We are in a pandemic. Don’t open your place if you can’t even adhere to the rules we had during NORMAL...
Read moreMy daughter and I stopped at this steak and shake recently while we were visiting my dad in his assisted living. We don't have a steak and shake where we live (wish we did). We walked in to the counter and placed our order to go. The employee who took the order did it quickly and we thought they were working on it right away. After quite awhile, another employee apologized for our long wait & brought our order up. He asked if we wanted a drink holder which my daughter told him we did. It was only when they brought the order up that we saw the order ticket and realized they had made the wrong milkshake. We had asked for a side by side chocolate and banana shake but what had been entered was a side by side strawberry and banana. We pointed it out to the employee who had brought the order up and he apologized and went to remake it. While we waited we observed several employees just standing around while just a couple of employees seemed to be doing all the work. One was a cook and another was the employee who had gone to make the right shake. One employee was standing on our side of the counter reaching across the cash register trying to enter something in it. She called another employee over to help her but that employee wasn't familiar with the cash register and the first employee said it was time she learned to run a register. The dynamics of this restaurant seemed off, but once we got our food it all tasted good when we got...
