Ixtapa Hermiston — Restaurant in Hermiston

I want to start off saying that the food is pretty darn good here, but the prices keep me from giving it 5 stars. Out of all the Mexican food restaurants in town this is the go to place and it is good with lots to choose from... But with that being said the average cost per plate (which is a huge plate) is probably between$15-18 (not counting drinks). This is very expensive if you have a big family or you are a large group of people.

You must understand that the prices weren't always this high and for half the plate being beans and rice you would figure prices should be much more affordable as this truly is one of the most expensive places in town. If costs really are this high and they need to sell the food at that price, my advise would be to cut back on the portion size as I generally never eat it all anyway. Cut the size back by 1/3 and charge $5-7 less per plate and I will be there once per week... Until that happens it is a once per month sorta place.

Bottom line... Great food, decent service, but...

Two years ago I submitted a review about their good food and family friendly service. We visit them fairly often. A little more than 10 days ago we visited them once again. The food was alright and the service friendly. They got my order slightly wrong, but not a serious problem. But they overcharged my debit card by $20.00. After calling them a few times about the overcharge, the money was finally redeposited back into our account today. I asked to speak with the General Manager several times, to no avail. He has not attempted to call me and see what is on my mind. I don't know what to think about their lack of interest in a regular customer's request. It's important that he calls me soon...
