Sora Sushi — Restaurant in Hermosa Beach

This was a neighborhood favorite sushi spot for many years and it is great so see another excellent sushi spot Sora Sushi back in the same location. The fish was very fresh and tasty in very dish. Presentation is off the charts with wooden towers and and steaming dry ice boats making this a really fun experience. Be sure to check out the specials boards as they have tons of specials at any given time. Our server was a pleasure and gave some great recommendations. The ice green matcha tea is one of the best ever.. very refreshing and delicious. Anything you order you is going to be good simply because they fish is amazing. Sora Sushi is a great welcome addition on the east side of Hermosa.. located in the old Big Lots center at Aviation and Prospect Ave there is tons of free parking and some outdoor tables if you don't mind some sun! This is really high quality sushi and the prices are super reasonable.. most rolls running 13 to 15 rather than the more typical 17 to 23 action we see in the beach cities.. so you get a really good value at Sora. Overall solid 5 star...

I would like to start this review by mentioning that I tried almost every Sushi place in the South Bay (especially in Hermosa and Manhattan Beach), none compare to Matsuhisa, Takao, and other high end Sushi restaurants in LA. But I have to say Sora Sushi impressed me quite a bit for being a Hermosa Beach Sushi restaurant, the first thing is the quality of the fish, really good and very fresh, then The Chef puts a home-made sauce on it depending on the fish which compliments it perfectly, the way best sushi chefs do. Then there are very interesting special rolls and other tasty items in the menu, luckily, they started to have Real Crab most of the time instead of that horrible imitation stuff . I am a huge sushi snob from New York and can't stand sushi that's not up to my standards, so when I tell you Sora Sushi is good, you can seriously trust me. The fish is fresh and yummy, and the special rolls are nicely packed without too much rice! I also tried the tofu skin spicy tuna snack and it was very delicious. I am absolutely thrilled that this place just opened five minutes from me in North Redondo Beach. I came for lunch and owners and servers were extremely sweet and the sushi was not only delicious but the presentation was gorgeous. And the prices are actually affordable - especially the lunch menu!!! I almost didn't want to tell you all about this place because I want it to be my new secret spot where I can always get a table, but I must give credit where credit is due.
