Milton's Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Hershey

Milton's ice cream parlor is an experience! They offer more than ice cream but I went there for the ice cream. Service is pretty fast even when there is a line, the servers are courteous and friendly. The space is not that big and you may have to wait to be able to get a table they also have a counter where you can sit at to eat and there is a bathroom right there beside the ice cream parlor. Milton's changes the ice cream flavors so they are not always the same. The ice cream is smooth and creamy some have different mix ins like graham crackers, cookie, Carmel or nuts. The place is clean and family friendly. Right next to the ice cream parlor is The Sweetery! They offer all sorts of sweet treats like cookies, cupcakes, fudge, chocolate turtles, cake pops and more! Milton's is unfortunately an example of the state of the service industry in America right now. The staff treat the customer like an annoyance and they seem to hate their jobs. This place had a long line which is what a day in an amusement park is full of anyway so it's expected. The problem is the set up. You order and pay all the way at the right of the counter but then are asked what toppings you want which is are all the way at the left of the 30 foot counter. So for all five of my family you had to walk back and forth for each order just for the toppings (see pics). The tables were filthy and so was the bathroom and no one was cleaning anything for the half and hour we were there but we saw a number of staff going in and out of a service door to the back doing...

Sure the ice cream is good, but have you had the grilled cheese and bucket of fries!?! You get to pick dipping 3 sauces with your fries and we chose chocolate mole, beer cheese, and smokehouse bbq - so good!!!! The bucket comes with 4 different styles of fried ‘tators - tots, curly, waffle, and pinwheel. The grilled cheese edge is crisped to perfection in some kind of garlic butter and the cheese pull is elite. Highly recommend the classic or the pulled pork grilled cheeses and even the cheeseburger sliders are delish! No thin, sad pattie on those sliders! No sir! They were plump, juicy beef patties cooked and seasoned beautifully. Miltons is a must-try spot for lunch when visiting...
