Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in High Point

I have visited this establishment before, and I had a great experience then, and I'm having a good one now as well.

I love that they offer a “combo of the month,” which features a monthly subscription that comes with fries and a drink.

This month, the featured sub is the Philly cheese steak with banana peppers. I am not a fan of banana peppers, so I asked them to remove this item for me. It did come with marinara sauce, which was a new twist, but it was good, so I appreciated it. I also love their hand-cut, cooked-to-order fries. Fries are always delicious, but even more so when they are hand-cut.

That's why, in the photo of my food, you see malt vinegar. I love pairing malt vinegar with hand-cut fries.

As you can see in another photo, they also have some outside eating that will be lovely in the coming months, as it warms up for summer here in North Carolina.

So, I normally come to this sub shop during lunch or order via the app. I’ve been going on and on about how good these subs are to my best friend and today she was finally ready to take a go at it!! I did an online order and the hot veggie sub didn’t come up so I ordered the hot “make your own” which was the Dagwood. My friend picked up the order and when she got back I noticed It wasn’t what I wanted at all! The web didn’t give me the right options :( No grilled onions or peppers as the toppings were cold on the Dagwood. Who knew! Well, I brought the subs back and they were more than happy to redo them and fix it for me, now I have the subs I’ve been raving about to my friends!! I’m sure they will taste as good as they normally do! I’m just happy they have great customer service and fixed it right up! I discovered this place a couple of years ago and I always make it a point to stop in when I'm in town. They have quite possibly one if the best cheesesteaks I've ever tasted. No need to ask for extra meat because it comes loaded. Their fries are boardwalk style similar to Five Guys. What really sets them apart is their people. Everyone who works there is super nice and genuinely acts like they love their job and helping customers. Once I ordered dine in and had to go back to order a takeout and the employee taking my orders apologized profoundly for not remembering my name. Mind you this was during the lunch rush and the place was packed. To have employees that dedicated to the customer is a rare gem, especially in chain places. It makes you feel like you're in a local sub shop. Eat here as often as possible if you're nearby, or heck, even if you're not, make a special trip. You wont be...
