Sometimes, the best meals are the ones you weren’t expecting to have. My wife and I had hoped to check out a new all you can eat sushi place, but both it and the existing AYCE spot had lines out the door. After placing a call to Little Tokyo to confirm they too weren’t filled to capacity, we headed there for our sushi fix, and it made me regret not having visited sooner. Little Tokyo boasts a pleasant, relaxing ambiance that made it a welcome refuge from the night’s rather intense rain. The menu here is Japanese (sushi, sashimi, hibachi, etc.) albeit with some Korean and Chinese influences. The selection of sushi rolls is extensive, and quite a few of them sounded intriguing. Admittedly, the Italian (a California roll topped with white fish, tomato sauce, and cheese) was a bridge too far even for me. My wife and I came hungry and went with two apps (steamed dumplings and vegetable gyoza), four rolls, and two misos. The food was, across the board, quite good. Whereas some miso can blast you with salt, Little Tokyo’s broth benefitted from an underlying richness. Our sushi was beautifully plated and tasted fresh. Of the rolls we tried, the Bulgoki (beef, crab, cucumber, and eel sauce) was my favorite. Prices here are reasonable for the quality of the food (rolls in the low-mid teens, most apps under $10), and severs are polite. The kitchen isn’t lightning fast, but we didn’t find the wait unreasonable. Based on ratings, I expected “good,” and based on hunger levels and a desire to be out of the rain, I would have settled for “OK.” Little Tokyo, however, ended up being surprisingly great.

Quite the spot here in a shared office complex/massage therapy building. The atmosphere is very delicate with its seating arrangement and little details that give a very Asian feel to the place. Loved that they give mini sample starters (free) of edamame and crab macaroni. The menu is straight forward but seems a bit limited, sushi ranges from 5-13 bucks a roll. Plates are fair game for their price but portions are immense. I did however noticed that the sushi rolls I had kept missing a taste aspect that you would normally encounter. Definitely going back for more, and SUPERB staff!

The food was great! The sushi was fresh, well crafted. Eel Donburi was exceptional! A must try and I would come back for that. The service however left a sour taste. Firstly, we had to ask several times for basic things like small plate, spoon for dessert. The server even missed to serve the miso soup that should have come with the Eel Donburi. I ultimately gave up after finishing my meal, and that’s when he offered to serve it! You can’t expect that to be acceptable. I would love for a place with such good food to thrive and I hope they will get their act together with the service.

I'd never been there first off. In fact I actually thought I was ordering from the place on Westchester called Tokyo Express but while placing my order I realized I had the wrong place and decided to give them a shot anyways. Upon arrival they were packed. I got in the door and there was a line nearly out the door ahead of me. I got in line waiting my turn and realized about 20 mins later those people were in line to get a table. I was there to pick up a take out order so I went around them and walked over to the register. One employee said she'd be with me in a minute but that was quite a long minute! The rest just looked at me then walked on by. Finally someone came to help and they gave me my order and took my money. By this time my food wasnt exactly warm anymore tbh. I even ate it in my car and it still wasn't warm that's how long I was in there. The meat was good the steak was big chunks which I appreciated as it seems like everyone else is cutting the steak smaller and smaller to cut costs these days. The noodles were dry and cold and so were the veggies. I think I would have enjoyed it better had I been helped while it was still warm honestly. So I feel like I will have to try it again to give the best review on the foods quality. But as far as the help goes I feel they could have done more in helping and directing customers walking in...

We happened upon this place because the restaurant next door was closed. I am really glad it was because this place was wonderful. The atmosphere is not like most non-performance Japanese restaurants. The decor is really cute and cozy. But no one cares about atmosphere if the food doesn't compare, but we were not disappointed. They have a huge sushi menu with pictures if you like sushi. Shoot, they have a huge menu in general. I love softshell crab but couldn't decide between that or hibachi beef. So my DH ordered the beef bentobox and I got the crab so we could share. My brothers got different kinds of sushi. Before our order came our server brought 4 appetizer samples: fried noodles, edmame, a macaroni salad with corn & crab (my favorite) and tempura chicken with honey. Presentation was nice but most of all, they tasted wonderful. All the food was soooo good. Brothers said their sushi was excellent. Mainly we felt their food was very fresh. The tempura shrimp and vegetables were so light! And the waitress was delightful! We received way more food for our money than we expected. Although I dont live in the area, I want to go back and try...
