I'm up and down with this restaurant. My last experience was definitely negative yesterday afternoon. The manager told me recently, if I had a problem to bring it to his attention and he would take care of it. I know you shouldn't always ask for something special and I try not to. But I called from work which is just slight distance up the street, for an urgent, to-go Pizza. They said it would be 45 minutes to an hour. It was for a customer waiting at my desk and it was literally the difference in making a car sale or not. So I asked to speak to the restaurant manager as he had requested, to see if he could do something special under the circumstances.. "Nope can't help you, it'll still be 45 minutes or more." Not wanting to displease or lose my own customer. I called their competitor Pizza Vino. Explained the same situation, the same way. They also had a 45 minute wait. But the manager when he understood the urgency, went out of his way to cook me a pizza fresh and get it to me in 15 to 20 minutes and delivered it personally. The whole management staff Where I work was impressed! Service with a smile. At Rome, maybe it was a different manager that promised to earn my business, so I'll speak to him personally and give them another chance. If they do better, I'll fairly report it...
Read moreOh! Where to start. So, we've been ordering from here for almost 3 years. Until tonight, we've only ordered mostly the XL Cheese pizza, which is not only a great price point for a 16' pizza, but also the best cheese pizza around, in our opinion. Tonight, we all wanted something different. Myself and the kid wanted steak and cheese, and was that ever a great choice! Great portions, enough of everything that you actually taste it all in every single bite, the onions and peppers were thoughtfully sized, as well as properly cooked, so that they didn't overpower the delicious meat. The misses went for the manicotti. Wow! I had a couple bites and wholeheartedly agreed with her that usually, manicotti is manicotti, but this was very obviously scratch made. 5 good sized pieces, the taste was a flavor explosion in your mouth, the perfect amount of "garlic bread" to last the entirety of the meal (and don't expect a hard piece of toast with some garlic butter, instead, delicious "pita" style pizza crust (I assume) that really hits the spot and just makes more sense) . We decided to get a Margherita pizza also, but nobody had any room left to try it yet... I'm sure it's amazing too...
Update... shared a slice with the misses... and I can say I...
Read moreAfter living in NC for 3 years, the hunt for a great pizza place ended today. While my wife and I were out for a drive, we happened upon Rome Pizza. After looking at their menu, we decided to have the spinach pizza and a house salad. The salad arrived with crispy lettuce, tomato, mushroom, onion, green pepper and topped with shredded mozzarella cheese. We also had their house Italian dressing. So far, it was absolutely delicious. Then the pizza arrived. It was perfect!! The crust was crisp and fresh and nice and crisp under everything. This by far is the most delicious pizza we have ever had in NC. Rome pizza has new customers with us. Vahid was a very gracious host. Very easy and extremely friendly to talk to. After telling him about our pizza trials, he welcomed us back any time. We took a menu home and now we can’t wait to try all the other wonderful items on the menu. Thank you for the best pizza! Can’t wait to visit...
