Came on opening day and loved it. Staff were super friendly and the decor was simple but cute. There aren't many tables but they're decently spaced so you're not on top of each other, and there's a second, small seating area above the first floor area.
Food was a little slow to come out but to be expected opening day. We got the spicy pork burrito - it was flavorful, the meat well-done, and was HUGE. Also got tacos de cameron (shrimp) - the shrimp was cooked well, nicely seasoned, and the tortillas were great - had a light, almost airy texture, and tasted home-made. Finally, also ordered the nachos de carne, and the chips also seemed freshly homemade and were nice & crunchy. They had a nice layer of cheese and beans in the middle so it wasn't just a mountain of dry chips with toppings. Finally, the red and green hot sauces were both good. Similar to above, seemed homemade which I appreciate.
Overall, really nice experience! Happy to support family restaurants like this, and glad there's another delicious restaurant in the area. Didn't take pictures of food because we ate it too quickly 😅
Update: ordered from here again and was just as delicious as before. The nachos are huge - definitely a 2 person dish, and even the Casita Ensalada (salad) was...
Read moreRecommended by family members that live in the area, and justifiably so. Firstly, the folks working there are a delight, and very efficient. Secondly, if you decide to dine inside, the atmosphere is pleasant, low-key and disarmingly charming. Thirdly, if you opt for takeout or delivery, their food packs and travels well.
Most importantly, the food itself represents something that we don't often see in America: freshly-made Latino food prepared with fresh, not canned, ingredients, and served in a visually pleasing way. It starts with homemade tortillas that are heavenly; light and delicate. All veggies are fresh, all meats, cheeses and sauces are moist and flavorful, and most dishes are assembled to order.
The first clue were the tamales, which reminded me of the ones my Salvadoran friend's wife makes, so simple yet so soothing. Everything we ordered, tacos, enchiladas, etc, were on target.
La Casita also represents something that's become harder to find: a great value. Reasonable prices combined with ample portions and great quality are a combination that are...
Read moreMy husband and I discovered La Casita a year ago when we were out looking for a good place to eat. If you want fast Mexican food, go to Taco Bell or Chipotle. But if you want good quality food that it's worth waiting for, (which is rare today), go to La Casita. The place is warm and cozy with a Mexican motif and an excellent variety of Blues, Jazz and Bolero music to further enhance the experience of eating there. The staff is warm, welcoming and makes you feel like you are family. The chef comes out often to say hello and see if all is alright with your meal. Again, if you appreciate food made to order from scratch and don't mind the wait, go to La Casita. They have an extensive menu ranging from breakfast to dinner including vegetarian dishes. We eat breakfast, lunch or dinner there three to four times every week. Everything there is good and OMG! You must try the "Cafe de olla", it is delish! Next time you are looking for a good place to eat, go to La Casita, you will not be disappointed. We are two very satisfied food...
