Owned and operated by a complete unprofessional. Employee tries to take 1 day off in 3 months and is threatened with their job. Employer is well off enough to owns 3 businesses yet offers no benefits of any kind, apparently not even unpaid time off. Employer consistently lacks the things needed to do day to day jobs including not having Boba for months despite having it displayed on signage all over including the corner of the street outside of the location. Avoid tipping at all costs if you reserve online, the Employee does not receive tips for pre-registration/reservation. Employer does not disclose to the employee nor the customer that online "tips" actually go straight to their pocket and not the employees. Employer has a total of 2 employees between their 3 businesses and is surprised-Pikachu that stuff is hard when an employee needs a day off and is surprised they are responsible for replacing product in a timely manner. Consistently out of chocolate or tea at either Beaverton or Hillsboro location and pillages the supply of one to supplement the other, leaving the lone employee of each store out to dry with low supply for each location.
It's honestly a miracle anyone has a good experience here given the owner is such a cheapskate and awful person. I would imagine most of the reviews are fluff pieces from their own colleagues. Consider shopping here to be no better than a fast food restaurant, meaning you are rolling the dice every time on whether or not you will have a positive experience. Oh yeah and she drags her poor children to the store on a regular basis and forces them to stay long hours as they sit and watch/play minecraft on the TV waiting for their mother to finish working. I feel very bad for them, as a child I hated being dragged everywhere my mom went due to her lack of planning. Children deserve to have their own personal time and not taken for granted simply because you cannot...
Read moreWhat a disappointing experience for a High Tea. Especially with all the high reviews. There were two people working to put food on trays and serve 13 people (4 tables). For a Tea place, serving High Tea, a menu should be presented that has teas that are available that day. A laminated menu with masking tape over tea not available is unprofessional for a High Tea. (I’m ok with a laminated menu , it was the masking tape that bothered me). The server had no knowledge of the tea and during the entire experience came to the table a couple times at best. We had to clear dishes and take them to the counter after the main tray was brought to the table the server didn’t take them. The sandwiches appeared to have come out of the refrigerator, not freshly made, the spreads had absorbed into the bread. The scones and and other items on the tray all seemed to be store bought. Nothing special at all. I’m going to say maybe you’re not familiar with serving High Tea? If you’re on a learning curve that’s ok even if you’re training new staff. Charging less as you get started would be a good idea. When you pay $55.00 per person for High Tea you expect an...
Read moreI’m hoping that our experience was a fluke because most of the reviews are glowing. We, however, had a few concerns about our high tea experience.
First, the tea menu is laminated with all selections that are currently unavailable covered in painters tape. It’s fine that they weren’t available but it seemed like the menu could have been presented better.
Second, you had to go into the kitchen prep area to get to the bathroom which didn’t seem like the best idea in terms of kitchen safety.
Third, I’m pretty sure one of the desserts on our tower was literally a pinwheel from Safeway. I’ve eaten those delicious chocolate covered marshmallow and chocolate cookie things all my life. I wish I had taken a picture because they looked and tasted just like a pinwheel. I love pinwheels, but it’s not what I thought I was paying for.
Finally, we got both our soup and fruit before we got our tea, which seemed odd. The server also didn’t seem to know much about the teas on offer.
Overall, I’d say the high tea experience cost too much for...
