Our experience with Spice of Africa was very unfortunate, as we LOVE supporting local businesses. My wife got some food from their food cart at the PSU Farmer's Market, and she was not informed that is came frozen.
We walked about a mile to sit down and eat before she realized her food was inedible. She walked all the way back, didn't even receive an apology, and was told to wait in the back of the long line for any corrections. Not wanting to do that, she asked for a simple refund instead, which they were "unable to do."
Not wanting to cause a scene, she threw away her $18 meal (and we ate the cost), and just got food elsewhere.

Read moreI've tried most things on the menu, and appreciate the reasonable pricing, generous portions, gluten free and vegetarian options. The veggie curry samosas ($5), Ethiopian ($8+injera) & Kenyan ($5+chapati) tacos are my favorites thus far. Beyond their restaurant in the Morrison Market (part of Stage722.com with live music a few times per week), they've been generous with spreading out in the community & make appearances at the Saturday PSU + Gresham Market, Sunday Montavilla Market, and special events such as the jazz festival. I love flavor packed food experiences & I love supporting minority owned businesses, I cannot recommend Spice of Africa highly enough. They are a rare treasure of...
