This place is not like an ordering goodwill. Things are just thrown into bins, and you are expected to dig through them to find things that you want. It seems like they do try to organize stuff in the bins like they throw things that are alike in the same bin. If you're gonna come to the store and you're looking for something specific, It's all up to luck in this store. I would suggest bringing gloves to dig through the bins. Because there might be broken glass or something dangerous that can poke your hands or you don't want to touch something nasty. If you do forget your gloves, they do have a bathroom so you can wash your hands. Big furniture like tables and beds are kept in the back wall of the building. There were a lot of people who looked like racesellers there, They were looking through the electronics and stuff like that. If I did find something there that piqued my interest. I set it to one side of me, and somebody would just come up and take it. I guess one mistake I made was not grabbing a cart even if I didn't end up getting anything at the end. One thing that is definitely different from regular goodwill's, is that items are not paid individually. You have to weigh them by categories. And you must pay by the weight of the item Pile.

Random bargains await. Big blue bins are rolled in and out every few minutes. Items in the bins are priced per pound, which makes some heavier items way too expensive, but some items are a steal. Individually priced furniture and large items are located in the back of the store. Timid shoppers don't do well, as people can be pushy, and generally don't ascribe to normal shopping etiquette. If you have a germ phobia, this place will freak you out. Gloves are occasionally worn by customers, but generally not necessary. A full bin of clothes being clawed through by 30 people puts out a lot of dust and whatever airborne particles live in used fabric. Folks with dust allergies better wear a mask or go to a big box store and avoid this shopping adventure altogether. Be careful where you park. Customers unfortunately leave empty shopping carts randomly throughout the parking lot and rarely push them back to the store. Staff are friendly and helpful. They deal with an eclectic mix of shoppers every day, and as far as retail challenges, they have probably seen it all. This is a good place to drop off donations. You are supporting an organization helping our community.

Great deals on furniture etc. You've got to be in the mood to dig for treasures and have a few hours to hunt. The prices are based on weight not tagged price. The more you buy, the less the overall cost per pound-*** Aim for 25lbs or more!!! :-) Glassware is weighed separately and books are priced individually. I Fully furnished our 5 bedroom rental with finds from hear, LetGo and the NextDoor network...$15 for a dropleaf table and chairs at $3 each. Secretary for $45

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Goodwill Industries Outlet

We visited the Goodwill Industries Outlet of the Columbia Willamette at 2920 SE Century Blvd, and it was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. We arrived at 6:50 pm, fully aware that the posted closing time is 7:00 pm. The door was open and unlocked, so we walked in.

As we were inside, out of nowhere, a woman who was moving carts around the store suddenly yelled at us from a distance: “Hey! Excuse me, excuse me! It’s closed!” Her tone was loud and aggressive, completely unnecessary. I calmly pointed out that the store’s hours clearly state they close at 7:00 pm, but she continued to rudely insist it was already closed, claiming the door shouldn’t have been open.

I asked her not to yell at us, but instead of de-escalating, she shouted even louder: “You better be out of here in 10 minutes!” I understand she might have been eager to finish her shift and leave, but that does not justify yelling at customers in such an unprofessional way. When I tried to explain, she doubled down, accusing me of yelling at her (when she was clearly the one who started yelling). The situation ended with her shouting at us, “Get out and never come back.”

What makes this even worse is that my father, who is visiting as a tourist and was excited to see the store, witnessed this entire incident. It was incredibly disrespectful, and her tone made it feel like she was showing disdain or prejudice against us.

I strongly urge management to review the security cameras and take action. This kind of behavior has no place in customer service, especially in a store that serves the public. We deserve an apology, and Goodwill must ensure that such unacceptable treatment of customers does not happen again. This experience left us deeply...

UPDATE: 4/8/20024-- Documenting this update to reflect our most recent experience on Friday 4/5. ** During the last few months of 2023 several reviews noted a lack of rotation of the bins and issues with management. We did observe an obvious lack of rotation of the bins during a visit in November. However, during our visit the morning of 4/5 this appears to have been resolved as bins were regularly rotated during the 2 hours we were there. We noticed regular announcements during bin rotation to not begin digging until all bins were in place which aids first timers in what were previously unposted rules. It also seemed like the folks there doing the reseller hustle were a lot more reserved in their behavior (read below on our previous experience). My teen daughter loves going here for affordable shopping and 'mom time' but had some nice conversations with some of the resellers. Will repeat my previous observation that having a testing station for electronics would be ideal. This is the kind of place where you need to 1) know what you are getting into and 2) have an open mind.

1 thing I wish they did have was a testing station with an electrical outlet.

Watch out for the resellers as they are out for blood without any discouragement from the Goodwill employees or management (I got knocked over by one trying to grab some Nikes).

Also the people who bring their little kids. Folks, just leave your kiddos at home- especially your small ones. This is NOT a...

I love Goodwill I not going lie. Always find good deals and the staff right there to lend a leading hand if needed. Today I went to the Goodwill on Century in Hillsboro for the first time. the difference is they call this place the bins. The reason is if it doesn't sell at the reg Goodwill the products come here any yep you got it they put in these big blue bins then being out to the floor. Ok I highly recommend you go there. The staff is awesome they are all really good, friendly and helpful. There is one employee named Jake. I had everthing in my car out of my car spread out all over when I realized I needed something else. Back in I go didn't tell anyone what I was doing and well I was in there way longer than I should of been. I get to my car and my stuff if not so spread out and Jake comes over and says I wondered what happened to you as I and pushing two carts. Aside from Jake that I have to run to Fred Meyers cuz I didn't find what I needed. He looks at me and says take your time man I got your back no one will touch your stuff. So I said thank you and of I. walked to Fred Meyer. Again gone long time as promised my stuff was fine. I tried to tip him 10.00 politely refused saying they are not aloud to accept tips. I offered him some candy I just bought again politely no thank you. So while every staff member who helped me today is awesome, Jake this 5 star review is all you and everyone at this Goodwill.team work gets the job done right!!!?

THANK...
