I was very disappointed in our dining experience tonight. Not sure I will ever come back again. Been here several times and this has been the worst experience(including large party’s) My sister had made reservations week or more in advance for 20-25 people, for my Mother’s Birthday. We were told to come at 5pm instead of 5:30pm, Which was not problem. Waiter took our drink orders, then drinks were given, meal orders were taken. We never saw “OUR” waiter for some time, others servers served us our soup and salads...we never got our bread until after we finished soup and salads. If you have dined here before bread always servers first (which we all had ask-including my nephew finding manger). We finally got bread given to us by girl who usually clears tables. Still never seeing “our” waiter. Finally my sister asked for refill of water...”our” waiter says be right with you...waited and waited no refills. Dinner comes, serverd to us by other employees. My pasta was cold and dry, still haven’t got my glass of wine (I was being nice, waiting knowing waiter was busy but having to wait for my drink until end of dinner was kinda ridiculous-which I ordered at time of my dinner, since she never came back to me after she got everyone else’s drink orders). Several family members got NO refills of water and soda, even asking for it. I feel that if you call way in advance knowing you are going to have large group to serve that they would better be prepared. Our waiter was not well organized and should not have been given two large groups at one time. Also which make experience worse is you have another large group who was served bread and drinks faster...and came in probably 30 minutes later. Knowing food service industry I understand being understaff, but this was not acceptable for customer experience, Especially when we still had to pay the gratuity tip of 18%(this is seven separate checks) Waiter apologizing at times but never really sounding sincere. Very Very...
Read moreIt's been a few years since we've eaten a meal from The Old Spaghetti Factory. Now I recall the reasons why we have not ordered, set up family get togethers, celebratory meals at OSF. The pricing has gone through the roof, the quality/taste of the food has dramatically decreased, while quantity and amount of cheese also decreased. We ordered 3 manager's favorite entrées at ~$23 per for the hearty size ($3.99 adder). The meals come with 2 loaves of sourdough bread, butter, salad or soup, and a small scoop of Spumoni ice cream. Assuming that they have this process down pat so I didn't check the pickup order and drove home (25 minutes away). Come to find out 2 of the meals are missing the salads. Had all the 3 salad dressing and ice cream but missing 2 salads. So the mask started damper, one of my pet peeves. So I called OSF and spoke to a manager who was courteous but only offered to refund the value of the 2 salads. I have him plenty of opportunities to outdone his customer service prowess. He had the nerve to ask whether I want to drive back to pick up the salads after I told him I was 25 minutes away. Has no clue that's a 50 minutes drive proposition at $5 per gallon of gas. Needless, I said goodbye and hung up. Sad state of affairs for restaurants these days. I know this. After many years of dining at OSF with my 3 boys and their vast teams for basketball and baseball over the years, I, as a coach and a sports official, will never suggest OSF for any meals when it is very evident that the value for the meals are not in the interest for the company. They've lost track of their core customer base...
Just look at the review selection below for dollars spent per person at OSF: $100+, $50-$100, $30-$50, $20-$30, $10-$20, $1-$10. OSF at $100 per person?WOW when did...
Read moreMyself and my husband have lunch here frequently. Our last experience left us disappointed. I’m a big eater and always love to take leftovers home from here. I ordered Marsala chicken and Lasagna for myself and my husband had the seafood ravioli plate. I requested two house salads and he asked for soup and added a meatball to it, to come before our entrees. One salad and his soup arrived. No meatball… ok fine. We also ordered the starter cheese bread and added bacon. It came with no bacon. I moved it to the very edge of the table as to get some attention. Our waitress and thee other one walked by our table at least four times and never asked why that plate was pushed to the edge of the table untouched. FINALLY (when our entrees were already out) we got her to start an order with bacon this time. She left the other plate on the table to take up space? I also never got the single meatball I ordered to come out with my entrees. Drinks took what seemed like forever. Our bill was close to $100, I left over 20% even though it was not earned. But I wanted her to not judge people by their looks or what they order. I heard her making comments about me ordering two entrees to her coworker. Maybe she thought we couldn’t afford to tip after ordering so much? But here’s the kicker… I’ve been a server:bartender:chef:management in this industry so I know what to expect and what I’m paying for. THIS WAS NOT IT. They were not busy at all. More time was spent taking to each other and cutting fruit instead of checking in on us. She tried to take my plate twice while I was still eating!!! Felt as if we were being rushed. I’ve been told to go to the Sherwood location next time for better service.
Food was great!...
