Update 6/14/2020: The district manager reached out to me after hearing about my experiences and assured me that my experience with the manager Mario is not what they aspire to provide to their customers. He apologized and said he would speaking to him as well as reviewing quality control on the food. I appreciate that very much and as a result have amended my review from 1 star to 3 stars. They would receive 5 stars if the food quality was consistent and I may try them again in a few weeks to see if there's been improvement. If so, they will get 5 stars from me gladly.
Previous review: I went through the drive-through on 6/3/20 and ordered a torta with some ingredients removed. When I got home, the torta was made completely unlike what I ordered even though the order was correct on the receipt. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager and a young woman came on the phone named Angela R. She confirmed she was the manager. I explained what happened and said that it had taken a really long time to go through the drive through and I was tired and wasn't coming back to get a new order and asked for a refund. She was very nice and even offered to refund me AND give me another torta free which I said was not necessary as mistakes happen. She got my receipt number and confirmed she'd refund me and I should see it within 3 days. On 6/12/20 I still hadn't gotten the refund so I called them back and was told she was not working but said I could talk to the manager.
The manager, Mario, came on the line and after explaining why I was calling, he proceeded to give me quite a hassle, why was I calling 9 days later, Angela is not the manager only a cashier, etc. I had to repeat the same thing over and over for several minutes and finally I asked him if he was going to give me the refund I was promised and he said he would be but only for one order. I kept saying I wasn't asking for anything else, only what I had paid for but didn't receive. I'm sure there was a language barrier because he was obviously struggling to repeat back what I was saying and that didn't bother me. What did was his accusatory tone and his insinuations that I was lying about talking to Angela because she's not a manager.
After 15 minutes of his rude customer service, he said he would refund me and I should see it on my card in 2 days. I've already been told this by a much nicer employee than him, and given his tone and rude behavior, I don't have a lot of confidence he will actually refund me.
I was going to also tell him about my experience on Sunday, 6/7/20, when I ordered the same item again, a torta with no guacamole or mayo. Again I got home but this time the torta I ordered which should have had carne asada, cheese, refried beans, lettuce and pico de gallo, only had a very small lump of steak and some grated cheese. There was a lot of bread that had no meat at all and the bread had been squished down to 1/16 of an inch. My friend who ordered a surf and turf burrito (and this was his first time there) got hardly any steak or shrimp. He was not impressed.
But the experience on the phone with Mario, the manager tonight, sealed the deal. I am never going to spend my money there again because there's no consistency with the food, they make lots of order mistakes, and then the manager is rude and hassles you when you tell him you didn't get what you paid for. Read moreI've come here a lot for a breakfast burrito. Recently they remodeled the store and increased the prices. I already thought the prices were too high and now they are way too high. Especially for a breakfast burrito that is mostly potato and hardly any eggs. If they actually put more eggs in the breakfast burrito, I might come back but with the price change and lack of eggs in the breakfast burrito, I'll pass.
Edit: I return to see if there is any change....nope. still overpriced breakfast burritos and is completely filled with potato. This is supposed to be a double meat burrito yet there is triple potato and hardly any meat or eggs. This is not the same serving of meat as it used to be. My update is a response to the managements response stating "they adjust prices to reflect the quality and care that goes into each dish." My response is, this is not true. The restaurant price does NOT match the quality and care for each dish. (Chipotle is cheaper and tastier). Prices increased yet the quality and quantity of ingredients has gone down. I will shop with my wallet and eat someplace better.
Edit: The only thing that has changed is less portions and higher prices which tells me the company doesn't actually appreciate my feedback.
Well I've avoided victoricos for a while now because the price went up and I noticed the portions decreased. I always get a double meat breakfast burrito which a little over a year ago I remember paying about $8 for. This is a reasonable price for what I am getting. There is hardly any egg, if any at all. There is only a bunch of potatoes mostly in the form of fries. I don't want a potato burrito. I want a breakfast burrito. The recent price increases again is where I absolutely draw the line. I will NEVER come back to this restaurant. $15 for a breakfast burrito is insane. Not only is it filled with a bunch of potato and no egg, but the portions are less. I was able to confirm this with an employee today. 3 ounces of meat which is apparently less than before. Usually, when big companies change prices and remove portions, they don't do it so drastically like victoricos has done. AFTER he already gave it to them when he arrived to pick the order up, he showed them the name and the order number!!
