I’ll preface this with I’m a coffee lover. I need that sweet sweet hit of espresso every morning to get my day going. So with that, I know comes some connotations of the word “snobby”. However, I think in this scenario, my complaints are slightly deserved. For starters, the coffee is basically just drinking milk as you can tell from the photo I’m attaching, I ordered a vanilla latte, and I seriously questioned the entire time if there was even coffee in it The same goes for my wife’s hot caramel latte, when I opened the lid, it basically just looked like milk under. Then the person who took my order, just seemed very much, not engaged, and like she didn’t wanna be there, which I feel like did not set the tone for the restaurant properly. Which is sad because this place gets great reviews. It’s just in my personal experience, it was very subpar and if you are a coffee lover, like myself, I would greatly question just finding somewhere else.

The Daily Café in Shelter Cove is a must-visit whenever we’re in the area! We’ve enjoyed both breakfast and lunch here, and everything has been fantastic. The avocado toast is delicious, and their specials are always a treat. They use King Bean coffee from Charleston, which is excellent. The café has a charming vibe with a great selection of beverages, including organic sodas. You can dine inside or outside, where the tables have umbrellas for shade. On our last visit, we were heading home after setting up our new Airbnb and needed sandwiches for our 13-hour drive. The staff went above and beyond, double-wrapping everything for our cooler—those sandwiches were fresh and delicious all the way home. We’ve eaten here about five times, and it’s always a highlight of our stay in Shelter Cove. The owner is fabulous, the food is spot-on, and the menu is full of creative options. Just make sure to get there before they close at 2 PM!"

I LOVED this place! Been coming to the island for years and this is such a nice addition! The coffee is good, the staff is so nice, the owner is so accommodating and nice. I had an oat milk lavender vanilla latte and I loved it. Will be back for sure. They have so many options and everything is clean. Retail area is very nice too. They have a wide variety of grab and go too if you’re in a hurry. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Prices are good too. Highly recommend! From one coffee shop owner to another, I am so happy for you and so happy this coffee shop is here! I LOVED your shop! Cheers ☕️

UPDATE: this place receives zero stars now for their response. They say we arrived at 2:10 but my time signature calling another place to ensure they were open after we left and got back in our car was at 1:53. Really pathetic attempt to save face and totally disrespectful to try and lie. It’s not hard to be kind but hey holidays make people crazy I guess. Perhaps it's better to address the negative reviews with courage to admit rather than say it's all slander and lies. My review is an honest feedback of the truth. The staff simply did not want to serve us or wanted to shut down the kitchen early and rather than say that, they claim "slander" and lie about the facts. I support small family run businesses and mistakes happen, how you handle mistakes tell everything about the "heart" of a company though, and this one chooses to berate and gaslight customers who give honest feedback.

"Perhaps you just ordered a drink you could not tolerate" is disgusting behavior for a business to say in response. Drinking coffee for 25 years mostly black coffee, so I think I can give a fair review.

Showed up on July 4th holiday so we are aware places will close early and be limited. Feels pretty bad though to show up seeing two lady’s eating lovely sandwiches outside and arrive at 1:45pm to be told they are only doing pastries and coffee only. Not busy and not that hard to just make an egg sandwich. Instead we were sent into a goose hunt for food now that everywhere else we could have gone closed at 2pm. Their decision created a butterfly effect we will not forget. To make matters worse the coffee upset our stomach and was not great. Couldn’t...

As a visitor to the island who was here for the 4th, it’s extremely disappointing the way you responded to my husband’s review which was 100% truthful, I have the time stamps on my phone as to when we arrived and left to call other establishments which was well before 2pm. We arrived around 1:45pm. I have an auto immune condition and it’s not easy to find places I have something to eat, so to be turned away from lunch and then slandered here over Google reviews - which by the way, this is why reviews exist, I rarely if ever leave a negative one, but this put a big damper on our day going on a goose chase just to find something to eat on a holiday in a tourist town. I’m happy you aren’t going anywhere, and that others had a pleasant experience but the way you turned us away and now defend yourself here is not how you treat customers. I don’t appreciate you calling us liars when we’re honestly giving feedback. Best of...
