Buckeye Fans, this is your haven in the low country. The owner is all-in for the Scarlet & Grey. Every inch (Including the bathrooms) is covered in OSU memorabilia, and on game day, every TV is tuned in from kick off to final buzzer (I would assume from tip-off to final buzzer during basketball season, too). Be prepared to share a 6 top with other kindred spirits as the place fills early, which also means there is plenty of room for all. The staff is welcoming and prepared to keep beverages flowing and seeing to your needs, while the kitchen is prepared to get food out expeditiously. We enjoyed sodas, a couple of beers, a large garden salad easily split between two and a 12" veggie pizza. My only criticism is that the pizza could have stayed in the oven a little longer...the middle was not as well cooked as the rest of the pizza. Kudos to the Buckeye Alumni Club...the winner of the 50/50 raffle walked away with $250 with the rest benefitting the scholarship fund. To date, the Alumni Club had already sponsored area students heading to Ohio State to the tune of over $50,000! Great atmosphere, good food, wonderful service on game day (or any other day of the week)!...
Read moreI walked in to pick up my pizza to go. The 2 hostesses let me know I needed to go to the bar to pick it up. I stood there at the bar for several minutes waiting for the bartender to return. Looking around I didn’t see any other servers, only eight people at the bar and a 2 top outside. I turned and asked a hostess if she could get the bartender for me. I was not angry or agitated in any way or raising my voice. The bartender came out and said she was busy in the back, I told her no problem, I didn’t know and just asked for someone to let the bartender know someone was waiting for their to go order. I paid and as she was handing me my change she said “sometimes we need a lesson in patience”. I’ve been in the customer service industry all my life. These past years I’ve defended restaurant servers and all that encompass this industry from the customers that have no idea of the industries ups and downs. But when a bartender feels holier-than-thou to make a comment like that, I would say there needs to be an attitude adjustment but after reading other reviews this is just how they treat customers that pay...
Read moreWe ordered pizza after driving all day to get to the beach and when it was pouring rain we decided to get some pizza as comfort food and call it a night. When we called they told us it would be 45 minutes which we were fine with. After the 45 minute wait we walked in and there was a line with just a few people waiting and only a few sets of people dining in. 15 minutes went by and only one person had gotten their food and we still hadn’t got any service or even a “hello, we’ll be right with you.” Nothing. Another 15 minutes later and you could hear a fight happening between the cook and a server over an order that was both inappropriate and loud. The bartender finally asked me my name, disappeared to the kitchen, and then came back with someone else’s order, asked my name again and then finally came back with my pizzas which were not even hot anymore. Once we got back to the house we were renting our pizzas hadn’t even been cut. The pizza, although it was cold and we had to cut it ourselves, was good. Not worth the trouble, the time, and lack of good service though. Disappointing start to...
