This Bakery has just opened on Hilton Head. We are locals and just happened to be passing by after returning from our own vacation. We were so excited to see this fresh storefront and decided to take a look. It seemed to have just popped up when we were away. What a gem of a bakery. We have several lovely bakeries here in town already, but I was so pleasantly surprised to see their fresh take on a European Cafe. When you first walk in, it is light, bright and well layed out for a small space. When you enter you can select a tray if you wish and take something yourself from their enclosed display or refrigerator case. Do not underestimate the atmosphere by that description, this place is high end. As you continue, you will see another long display case with cakes and the waitstaff who are available to take specialty coffee and tea drink orders and warm your selections if you like. One thing that I noticed immediately is that the pastries, sandwiches and especially the cakes are very different from the other bakeries around here. Some of the cake flavors were Soufflé Cheesecake, Mango Coconut and a Cappuccino cake that was actually in the shape of a Cappuccino cup. They were incredibly busy when we were in there on a Sunday after church, but I will say that they kept the line moving, and nothing in the cases was ever empty. I kept trying to grab a blueberry cheesecake pastry but had to wait a few moments because every time the pastry chef tried to refill the case, people in line kept asking for them off the tray before he could get them in there. I guess a good problem to have. They somehow seemed to keep appearing from the back though. I spoke with the owner for a few seconds as he was coming around to see if everyone was enjoying their food and he told us that they were just opening and still working out the details. He had his whole family working there, which I loved. They were all happy and rushing around joking around. I think he was trying to get one of his family members (one of the pastry chefs) to move a bit quicker because people wanted more cakes and he was such a perfectionist placing each berry straight up and not touching. It was such a great vibe. Everything tasted very very good, the staff were very polite and it was a pleasant atmosphere. I hope that this...
Read moreThis was my first time coming to Paris Baguette. I went with my mom and little sister. The café was VERY clean and the cashier's were very nice. The savory pastries were SO DELICIOUS!!! We had the Curry Croquette, Ham & Cheese Pastry, Pepperoni Pizzetta, and BBQ Chicken Pizzetta. All of them are 10000/10!
The Curry Croquette was my favorite, the bread was crunchy and soft. The onions, corn, etcwas so GOOD!! I'm still thinking about it 10 hours later. I would want that every time for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The BBQ Chicken Pizza was so GOOD! I didn't think to put BBQ on a pizza, it wasn't too much or too little. There was enough dough and the crunch... perfect. The Pepperoni was better than a pizza you get from Pizza Hut. I would eat these pizzas more than Pizza Hut, that's how good they are!
The Ham & Cheese was good. It was like a regular ham & cheese. It was good, but I could pass.
We also had a Strawberry Croissant, Coffee Bun, and Blueberry Cream Cheese Pastry. They were good, the Strawberry Croissant was my favorite.
The only bummer is that when you come in the café, if there is something that you want inside the containers and there's no more of what you want, that is what they have for the day. Which was Boo! I wanted more of that croquette, but I don't want to be stingy and get 5 of them from everyone else.
Now for the desserts. Not a good review. The desserts look so BEAUTIFUL, just like the photos! I was so excited to try them, I got a Berry Tart, Ganache cream cake, Strawberry Cake Strawberry Pistachio, Dubai Chocolate Tart, Chocolate Chiffon, and Mango Coconut. ALL of them were a 2, 1, 2.5, or 0 stars. They weren't good! I'm not a chocolate person, but the chocolate was a little better than all of them. The only ones I would maybe eat again are the Dubai Tart and Berry Tart. I'm willing to try new things, but I wouldn't try these again. I'm sorry.
But I...
Read moreWe are on vacation in HHI. We typically go to the shop in Shelter Cove for our morning coffee and croissant, but they are closed for renovations. My husband brought us croissants from the Paris Baguette and we were very happy with the delicious food so we decided to go again, with him this time. This place is a serve yourself kind of place … not what we are familiar with. You go the counter to order drinks though. The girl at the register was SO RUDE!!! I ordered a coffee and she asked if we wanted anything heated, which we did. I politely mentioned we were first timers and she just kind of rolled her eyes and took the tongs out of my hands. Then she said “you can leave now”. Yep … that is what she said. She could have said, “your food and coffee will be right up”. She could have smiled. She could have said “thanks for coming in”. Nope … she said “you can leave now”. Hummm … I was still waiting for my coffee and my daughters breakfast to be warmed. I politely moved away from the cash register and 10 seconds later my coffee and croissant were ready. Rude service from the redhead with extreme false lashes. We won’t be returning! You should get someone more pleasant to interact...
