Ok start with I am not a paid actor; I say this because it might sound like I am one. This is a Cheers bar. For those not old enough to remember Cheers this is a neighborhood place where everyone is welcome. I never went here because from the street it looks like any other place in a strip mall but boy was I wrong to judge a book by its cover. We came in and were immediately welcomed and told to grab a table wherever. By the time we sat down the server was already there to help. It just so happened Tashia the owner was helping us and guided us through the menu. The inside was warm and lively with people from the island all around. Newcomers and regulars side by side. The staff checked on everyone and would stay to chat so it wasn't just us, it wasn't just Tashia, it was everyone there. Felt like we were there for the 100th time not the first.

You can tell a lot about a place by their nachos. Do they care? or do they just throw it on a plate and microwave it? This place cared; they make their own chips and toppings were distributed throughout the stack and you can tell it was melted properly throughout. The garlic cheese curds were a family favorite, just be careful on a date cause it can make a kiss "spicy" as only garlic can. The ribeye hoagie with chili was flavorful as was the saloon burger but the star was a mac n cheese for me. It had a lot of thought in it with the cheese being present but not overpowerful so you could still taste the noodles. All winners...

Sundown Saloon is a delightful gem of a restaurant tucked away close to Hilton Head Airport. After indulging in several of the Island’s much higher priced and overrated restaurants and overdosing on seafood my wife and I needed a break. WOW, did we find it at Sundown Saloon! It truly was impressive, and a not to break the bank eatery with burgers and sandwiches that are off the charts outstanding. We started off with a couple of appetizers of pretzel bites and onion rings. I am not an onion ring guy quite honestly, that’s my wife’s territory, but they were prepared to perfection and delicious. My wife thought that they were the best she had ever eaten. The pretzel bites were particularly good as were the beer selections. I had a build your own burger that was made to order and simply delicious. An 11 out of 10 on the burger charts. My wife had a Philly Cheesesteak which she said was also the best she ever had. The atmosphere of the place was so enjoyable, comfortable, and relaxing. The entire experience was enhanced because of meeting the extremely friendly and engaging owner, Tasha. Chatting with Tasha was the icing on the cake and gosh does she make you feel welcome and appreciated. Kudos to Tasha and her staff for a tremendous lunch and we cannot wait for our return trip to the Island to see you all again. Keep up the magnificent work....

What a wonderful restaurant Sundown Saloon is. Shame on us for taking two years to finally check out for ourselves. Multiple local friends have told us what a gem Sundown Saloon is. Well they all were spot on.

We stopped in for a weekday lunch and instantly loved the decor. The rich red walls and use of tin under the bar, along with the great wood ceiling beams makes you think you are in a saloon! The long bar glistens with rich warm lacquered wood top - beautiful.

We were instantly greeted by the very efficient professional bartender/server. Sundown Saloon served ice cold pint glasses (thank you) with delicious South Carolina craft beers. We ordered tow sandwiches (Pulled Pork and French Dip) which arrived quickly, hot, and delicious. We tried regular shoe string and sweet potato french fries - both very tasty and crisp.

We enjoyed our visit so much we lingered and enjoyed two local South Carolina craft beers. The Mocha Blonde Stout and 13 Stripes IPA were 4.0 craft beers.

We met the owner, who could not have been more gracious and complimented her on her fine establishment. We even bumped into our friends ,also having lunch, the same folks who had recommended we try Sundown Saloon - what does that tell you.

We can't wait visit again, enjoy a dinner, and support this excellent restaurant bar. Well done...

Sundown Saloon is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and full of character. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual bite or a night out with friends, this place strikes the perfect balance between comfort and energy. The food is outstanding — flavorful, fresh, and clearly crafted with care. Every dish we tried exceeded expectations, and the menu offers something for everyone. It’s the kind of spot where you’ll want to try everything on the menu. What truly sets Sundown Saloon apart, though, is the impeccable service. Tasha, the owner, goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome. Her attention to detail, genuine hospitality, and passion for her business shine through in every interaction. She creates an experience that keeps you coming back. Highly recommend Sundown Saloon for great food, great vibes, and top-tier service. A true standout in the area.
