Seagrass Grille was ok for the most part. The food was ok, I ordered the duck, it was fine, the tomato pie was good, however there were some issues that need to be addressed. First, my fiancé ordered the fillet and a grilled chicken Caesar salad. The grilled chicken in the Caesar salad was very strange. Cold, very strange smelling, and just not good. We go to Texas Roadhouse all the time and are used to buying cheaper, low-end fillets. We also got to Jeff Ruby's a lot and are accustomed to purchasing higher-end fillets, this Sea Grass fillet fell on the end much lower than any Texas Roadhouse fillet we've ever purchased. Not only was the steak not remotely temped correctly when they first brought it out, it was more or less inedible. It was almost as if the silver skin had not been removed from the filet and the fat had not been trimmed hardly at all. The entire top portion of the fillet was solely fat. On top of that it tasted very off and looked much different from the other person in our party who also ordered fillet. I've eaten thousands of steaks in my life; ribeye, fillet, NY Strip, Sirloin, Flank Steak, Chateaubriand, and never have I ever tasted a piece of beef the tasted like that. To add to that, she ate literally 2 or 3 small bites of the steak, because the majority of it was fat. Thats all she could stand to eat. We then expressed the issues with it and they proceeded to take it back and we all ordered desserts. The desserts were good and then we came around to the bill. They came to our table and told us that they merely took off half of her inedible fillet. SERIOUSLY?!? A $45 fillet that wasn't worth $10. I would have been embarrassed to have even sent that out as a chef. So not only did we pay half for an embarrassingly bad fillet, the best things we had all night were the desserts. Based on what we've heard this is not a commonality at Sea Grass, but after our experience I'll probably stick with Truffles or Quarterdeck if I want a...
Read moreVisited for Dinner on May 31, my wife and I went there for our 20th anniversary. We were sat in a far corner, we had requested a quiet table and it was, but near the kitchen. We have been going to the Sea Grass off and on for many years. We absolutely love their Tomato Pie and have bought many whole pies for gifts, brunches, etc. We ordered a nice wine, and a Tomato Pie appetizer. Bread was brought to the table and included a couple very good biscuits and a couple french bread slices. None was left! The App came and we were both a little disappointed at the pie, as it was somewhat cold, not piping hot as we have experienced in the past. Regardless, the flavor was as good as usual. The salads that came before our entree were very fresh and good as expected. My wife ordered the Filet and I had the Veal Scallopini. The filet was cooked to order and came out as expected, it was very good. The veal I have not had in a while, but it was equally as good. One of the things we love about dining at Sea Grass is the variety you get with an entree... from the salad, to the really yummy potato side, and multiple kinds of vegetables, in this case, carrots, green beans, and broccoli. All cooked perfectly. We ended with a Key Lime pie, but I did not capture a photo of that, but it was very good, not a graham cracker crust which I love, but this was more of a dough based crust, still good. Not my favorite crust. All in all, a...
Read moreSteer clear. Atmosphere is bland and gives zero indication you are on the island. The staff was trying their best but are clearly micromanaged and are operating out of fear. Rushing to grab our plates and check from the table as if they’re going to be berated if they sat for one second too long. The food was straight up sad. I can live with getting the wrong dressing for my salad, but the scallop appetizer was under cooked to the point where I was worried I’d get sick if I ate more than one bite. The soup was average, nothing to write home about. Then for entrees, I ordered the salmon and the bang bang shrimp. The salmon was again undercooked to the point where it could’ve made me sick. It instantly killed my appetite. The shrimp were cooked but bland, tasting like a chalky lump of flour in my mouth from the bland thick layer of breading on them. The sauce was lackluster at best with barely any flavor and the shrimp itself was not seasoned or marinated before frying. My husband’s mahi was cooked through but bland and could’ve been made better at home. My son’s chicken fingers were cooked and non hazardous to eat but incredibly bland- not even a pinch of salt or pepper on them. This was an incredibly overpriced, bland, and disappointing meal. Ended up grabbing a bite to eat afterwards at my...
