I was looking for a place to host my wife’s surprise birthday party. After doing some research, and weighing all the local options, I determined that Carpe Diem would be the best choice. I went in concerned about the surprise aspect of the party, also stressed about “hosting” and the food. Throughout the entire process from booking to follow up, everything could not have been easier and smoother. The owner Joe, personally called me to give me his cell phone number and told me, you call or text me anytime!! I didn’t know, but he was on vacation one of the times I bothered him, yet he still answered the call and made time to speak to me without rushing me. He ensured me the food would be great and the drinks would be flowing. Joe helped walk me the through the amount of food that would work best for our party, also including the fan favorites & best bang for your buck items. Joe was also promising me the bartender Chris, was a true professional and I was in great hands. He was not lying!! Chris made everyone feel welcomed and remembered all the drinks for each guest after the first round. I was able to connect my phone to their speaker for some music and things went off without a hitch. Overall, from pricing, to customer service, to food and event space, I was completely satisfied. There is definitely a max capacity in the private room, but I knew that going in and it worked out great! 10/10 would recommend Carpe Diem in Hoboken for your next...
Read moreOk…I was very excited to try this place. These wings have been explained to me as “the best in Hoboken”. And I LOVE wings. So last night, after a hard day…my boyfriend and I headed over to give them a go. We earned beers and wings!
Wow. All I can say is, we were beyond disappointed. I think might be my first negative review on google but I had to do it.
The wings were small and over cooked…to the point where one was so small and so deep friend it was inedible. Also, I don’t think it was buffalo sauce, but whatever sauce it was was not good. Then it came with the most pathetic side of celery and carrots I have ever seen.
I ordered the Greek salad which was pretty good and my boyfriend ordered the Shepard’s pie and it literally lacked flavor and I think the potatoes were instant and they weren’t browned at all. Literally no flavor and felt like baby food.
Then I had a vodka soda which was 10 bucks and I don’t even think there was vodka in it. 😳
THEN we had empty drinks, said we didn’t want more and asked for a to go container…our server brought that and then didn’t come back for over 15 minutes. So we were trapped!
Literally not a great night. So many amazing places in Hoboken and we will not be back here. So disappointed and I had to be honest so others didn’t make the...
Read moreMy 7 friends and I left the nearby Gravity Vault and walked in here without a reservation on a Saturday afternoon when the place was packed. I expected we would be turned away, but the staff immediately opened up the upstairs party room and got us seated and settled with glasses of water. The service was great and we loved the famous buffalo wings we got as an appetizer — nice and crispy and super flavorful! The french fries and sweet potato fries were next level and some of the crispiest, best ones I’ve had in a while. We also couldn’t get enough of the Moon Sauce that came with them, either. The pulled pork I got was tasty, too. I also enjoyed my Magners ($7) and was glad they had cider options on the extensive beer menu! Lots of options on the menu whether you want a sandwich, burger, or even a stir fry or shepherds pie. On top of that, the prices were pretty reasonable — about $15 for a pulled pork sandwich that came with fries! For Hoboken, that’s an awesome deal. I would totally...
