The place really went down... We have been going there frequently, for almost 20 years - just two of us and for parties. This used to be a great Czech/German gastro pub. The food was awesome. Ownership changed during Covid and everything just disintegrated. I think the place changed hands at least two times at this point and it gets worse with every iteration. The menu became very limited and is all over the place - most of it is not German - nachos, taters, linguine, etc. "German" food lacks flavors and texture. For example, Spätzle is overboiled and mushy, covered in some kind of flavorless cheese sauce. German potato salad and cucumber salad had no acid or mustard, hence had no flavor. Winter salad had no dressing or acid, therefore no flavor. Pretzel was good. The schnitzel was ok at first, but became very tough as it cooled down. It was served with blueberry preserve, which was weird and didn't go well together. You usually serve it with something tart like lingonberry or even sour cherry. All the food arrived at the same time - they just plopped it all on our table, so, by the time we drank beer with pretzel, ate the pierogis and salad, the schnitzel got cold, tough and unpleasant. Beer was not cold enough. Service was bad overall, they didn't bring plates or utensils, the busboy kept hovering and the menu was hard to use. The music was a horrible choice of some kind of pulsating club beat. Most of the original décor is gone...
Read moreI've been going here frequently after indoor climbing. We went here during peak hours on a Friday night during the Knicks versus Pacers game Eastern Conference, just to give context how packed it was. They have a pretty good beer selection and you could do mobile orders with their QR code they place at the tables. But it's usually better to order with a server because sometimes they'll let you know about deals that's not on the site. We ordered the New York Knicks platter and to be honest it was a bit lacking. Chicken tenders felt dry and needed to have sauce just to make sure that I could eat it. The wings were also okay. What was good about that platter was the onion rings. The batter for it was pretty delicious. However, if you do go here, I would definitely recommend the pork kielbasa. I'm glad they kept that after they renamed the bar. We'll update more once I try new...

The atmosphere is awesome: string lights overhead, brick walls, greenery all around, and long communal tables that work for any size group. Leashed pups are welcome on the patio, and the staff made Brie feel right at home with a water bowl as soon as we sat down.
Scan the QR code to view the menu and a friendly server will take your order and bring everything right to you. The menu has a great mix of American and German favorites, plus an impressive drink selection featuring beers, cocktails, mocktails, wine, and even non-alcoholic brews. We could not resist the warm Bavarian pretzel, and Brie’s mom was especially excited to sip her favorite Weihenstephaner...
