Headline: they starved my dog for four days and the manager would not take my call.
I was excited to see another boarding option opened up in Hoboken, as other doggie daycares in the area don't have on-site boarding. I brought my dog to try out daycare on 3 different days and he seemed to have a great time. So when I had to go out of town, I felt confident leaving him there for 4 nights and 4 days.
Their online portal only has a lunch and dinner field so I added the full feeding schedule to the notes. He gets 1/3 wet can and 1/4 cup kibble for each meal three times a day. Since he only gets lunch and dinner during daycare (vs when he's overnight and also gets breakfast), the woman at the reception manually updated the feeding instructions.
When I dropped him off for boarding, I discussed the change back to the original instructions and included a hand written list detailing his meals for boarding.
I left food for 4 full days: 4 cans of wet food and 3 cups of kibble. When I picked him up, I got back 3 cans of wet food and a cup of kibble.
I asked the staff what happened and the woman could only attest to what she did when she fed him. I asked for the manager to please call me. Not only did the manager not call me, but when I called the next day he was unavailable. A short while later I received an email from the manager, Ken Myers, where he proceeded to blame me and tell me that I gave them incorrect instructions.
Clearly, I'm never sending my dog back there. Camp Bow Wow, here's some parting advice: Pretend to care that you starved my dog for 4 days Be professional and call me to discuss this matter Take...
Read moreHorrible communication. Owner is unfriendly, disrespectful, and has a complete lack of empathy for his clients. I left my dog for day care for the first time knowing that I would be working late. I did not know the business closed completely at 7pm, and thought someone was at the facility 24/7 given that their website states "24/7 monitoring". I didn't receive a single phone call telling me they were closing, or asking me where I was, nor did any of my alternate contacts and only saw an email from 15 minutes after they closed telling me they were keeping my dog for boarding. I didn't leave any food or medication with them so they had no reason to believe I intended on leaving her. I tried calling them repeatedly once I recognized my mistake- which yes I take full ownership that I should have realized their closing time, again I thought "24/7 monitoring" meant someone is in the building at all times- and nobody answered. There was not even an emergency number for some sort of worse situation. When I went in the morning to pick up my dog, I simply wanted to know why I wasn't contacted prior to closing or once they realized I missed pick up time. I fully intended to pay for the boarding and leave as soon as possible. The owner responded aggressively accusing me of being a horrible dog parent, being completely irresponsible, and debasing my entire character. I fully admit I made a mistake, but the fact that he took my clear frustration and distress over the situation and took zero responsibility is...
Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars I would. When I took my pup for the trial to see if she was a good fit on Friday, 9/19 I was told she was… She came out happy & tail wagging to see me. After her trial run, I felt good about leaving her at your facility for 10+ days. I immediately booked boarding and was happy to find what I thought was a great place for her.
I figured I'd drop her off today for day care so she can get some playtime in and familiarize herself with your facility. I checked the cameras 3 different occasions today and everytime I checked my 9 month old puppy was being aggressively pulled away by her collar. After the 3rd time, I called and asked if everything was okay and was told “shes just very playful”, I told the woman on the phone if you need to separate or crate her please do - I dont want her to get hurt after being yanked 3x.
When I picked her up, I was absolutely mortified. She came out SOAKING WET and when I asked why the girl said she was "starting a fight" a few times. My pup is very friendly and has never started a fight. I said a FEW TIMES? why wasnt she just separated or why wasnt I contacted instead my dog was hosed down and clearly scared when she came out to me, her tail was down and ears were back. I can't explain how disappointed I am. I was so shaken up I got in the car and cried... This was a horrific experience and frankly abusive to a dog when she could’ve easily just...
