I went to Metropolis with my brother and sister in law. I enjoyed myself. We sat towards the front side of the building. It was nice and cozy with the heat on. The ambiance was beautiful. The drinks were delicious and not too strong and definitely not weak. For those that don't want to drink they have mocktails which are really good. My brother and sis both had Lychee Martinis and also a Old Fashion and a Dirty Chai Espresso Martini. I had a mocktail that had ginger beer and blueberry puree. For appetizers we had the jumbo mozzarella rings which were so delicious, fried calamari and 2 empanadas that were beef and veggie empanadas. The appetizers were amazing. For our entree I had the chicken breaded sandwich, my brother ordered the braised beef short ribs and my sister had Magret Duck Breast. They enjoyed their meals. They really like the Braised Short Ribs that they ordered two more orders to go. Our waitress Elif was amazing. Super sweet and accommodating. Overall great customer service. So humble and kind. Overall the food was delicious and flavorful. Every bite was satisfying. Some of the best Mozzarella rings I have every had. The empanadas were different from what I am use to but they were so flavorful and delicious. The veggie empanadas was cooked perfectly. The beef one just melt right in my mouth. I wanted to savor every bite. The ambiance was spectacular. There was a live Dj who played great music. If you are looking for great food, music and beautiful ambiance welll this is the place to be. I plan to come again and enjoy the rooftop.

My very specific experience was a 2-hour reserved open with pizza, and while this isn't my preferred night out, the drinks were accurate and the pizza was tasty. We had a roped off area which was cool; however the speaker and DJ were also in that area. I am not a fan of yelling every word I use and that was consistent from when the party started until I had to leave because it was just too loud.. for me. Others may love that and if so, here's the place to be! Another part of the service is did not like was the open bar; it came with a menu that included different aspects of typical drinks, but no wiggle room to combine those things, are add non liquor drinks, like olive juice for example. That felt off and the person behind the bar was clearly annoyed as they bent the rule for one party guest, but not the rest of them. I likely wouldn't go back short of an event for a person I care about, however, if a loud bar that has a restaurant downstairs and tvs playing sports upstairs, this is a great place for you!

Visited for the Hudson Restaurant Week menu and had a great time with friends! We've visited once before where we sat at the bar for drinks and kept thinking how good their espresso martinis are so we had to return for the food. With the restaurant week deal, for $50 I ordered the caesar salad as my appetizer, salmon for my entrée and tres leches for dessert. For drinks, a pumpkin spice espresso martini, Patron Moscow mule, and New York sour. We enjoyed our meals; my friend loved her braised beef short rib entree. The drinks were well crafted, especially the espresso martini! If you plan on visiting for restaurant week, it ends 2/7/2025 so definitely take advantage of their lunch or dinner prix-fixe menu. And if you visit during happy hour, it's a deal on top of a deal! Service was a 10/10, the staff was very attentive and accommodating. The ambiance is nice too, I love the little booth towards the back. Would definitely return and check out their sister location, Belo Bar!

Please do not go! One of the worst experiences! I have never been so mistreated. This Monday decided to go with my husband at around 6:30. It looked empty when we walked in. The idea was to grab some drinks and have a light meal at the rooftop bar (bc it was advertised in the front). We walk in, no one was there to greet us, so we proceed to take the stairs up to the 2nd floor with plans to go up to the 3rd, for the rooftop space.

Half way through the stairs a young woman working there comes down from yelling at us very loudly saying there is a private party on the 2nd floor and that we have to come down. It did not even say that anywhere! She looked angry and deranged! I just mentioned that we were going to the rooftop. “You can’t come up, it’s a private event, you need to leave now and go around to the another staircase, go back now!” I was shocked at the level of anger.

Ok, so we tried to figure out where the other staircase was and we get to the rooftop. There are 3-4 tables empty in the rooftop area. No one is there to greet us, so we wait. Then we decided to approach one of the empty tables and out of nowhere another young woman comes flying in, yelling at us that we can’t sit there. I asked “how about this other table?” She said “no”, I asked about the other 2-3 tables and she asked if we had reservations. We didn’t. She got even more irritated and said “you need reservations!” I was surprised because half of the rooftop was empty. The bar area was not that busy either. There was just one table marked as “reserved”. It was a quiet night it seemed. I asked if we can get a table at all and she yelled saying she needs to ask her manager and disappeared. Simply put, we were not welcomed there. Upon exiting, at the first floor, a hostess finally appeared and asked why we were leaving. I said “we got yelled at on each floor, your place is not worth it, goodbye”.

I really wanted to try this place out and had plans to bring in a couple of big parties as well. But will never ever step my foot at this establishment. No manners, rude! What’s with all the yelling and pretentiousness? The place...

Our party of 8 arrived at this establishment when it was completely empty. We sat at the bar, ordered several rounds of drinks, and were later joined by more friends. Everyone was enjoying themselves respectfully, and there were no issues during the time we were there. (Big shout to the bartender)

However, as some of our group began to leave and the last few of us were finishing our drinks, the situation took a very disturbing turn. The owner approached one of our cousins and said, quite rudely and without explanation, that he "needs to go." We were then accused by a staff member (the runner) of something we absolutely did not do apparently “dropping a pizza” and “offending the staff.” These claims were completely baseless. We then asked them to check their cameras, which they reportedly have, to prove that none of us were involved in anything inappropriate. Despite this, the owner continued to escalate the situation, raising his voice and getting in our faces, even as we explained that these accusations were not only false but also offensive and damaging. This was a clear case of unfair treatment, and the level of unprofessionalism displayed. Especially by the owner. Extremely unacceptable. We came to enjoy ourselves in a respectful and peaceful manner and were instead met with hostility and disrespect.

I strongly urge the “management” to review their footage and reconsider how they treat guests, especially when making serious accusations without evidence. This experience was not only disappointing — it was...
