I started going to Hudson Family Chiropractoc in January of this year (2017) out of desperation. I was dealing with lower back pain for a few years, and being the stubborn man that I am, I kept putting off treatment. I finally caved and was referred to this place from a friend. Best decision I've made in awhile.
Since my first appointment (and I have had many since then) I have had nothing but positive experiences with HFC. I am always greeted with a friendly smile from Tiffany or Ariel at the front desk, which is always a good start. They are always willing to go the extra mile to help me with what I need, and they do it without complaint. John and Mike are incredible. I cannot say enough to express what they have done for my pain. I really had no hope coming into this entire experience, and 3 months later, my pain is so minimal that I feel like a different person. They treat each patient very specifically. What I mean is that they are not like most chiropractors I have seen, where they just do the routine adjustment of the entire body and call it a day. They really pin point your pain, and they don't overdo it. I feel like most places tend to areas that are unnecessary, which sometimes can lead to more pain. They do not do this. They are true professionals. Besides being awesome at their job, Mike and John are always so compassionate. I honestly feel that they care about you, and they don't see you as income. They are always genuinely concerned about my situation. For example, I had a setback with my pain in February that put my back out for almost a week. This was caused by one of my not so best decisions of allowing my fiancé to drive to the store, but that's a whole different story. These guys were genuinely concerned for me. They were so disappointed because I had come so far and they didn't want me to give up hope, as they did not. John and Mike had me back up and walking in less than 2 days, and back to almost 100% within a week. It used to take me 2 to 3 weeks to be able to get back into my normal routine, but they had me going in a fraction of that time. This was also thanks to the final but equally important piece of the puzzle in Marissa, HFC's AWESOME physical therapist. What can I say about Marissa? Besides being just as warm and caring as the rest of the staff, she is like a wizard with her ultrasound and Graston (spelling?) Wands. She uses multiple techniques to loosen and relax the muscles, as well as stretch them. I haven't felt this loose and comfortable in years. All throughout the process, Marissas personality shines and she will have you laughing the entire time. It's like going to the doctor and hanging out at the same time. And her new assistant Kenny is on point as well. He is always on top of his stuff, and is always there when you lose count on for your stretches. Bring him a bag of nuts from the nut guy out front, and you have a friend for life! So basically, if you are nervous about going somewhere for your pain, DONT BE. Give these guys a shot. You will NOT regret it. I feel like a new person.
P.s. For bonus points, get Marissa a coffee from...
Read moreI cannot overstate how much this practice has changed my life. I am probably one of the only people who has experienced all of their services, so I feel qualified to give a comprehensive review.
About three years ago, I started seeing Dr. Mike for my chronic headaches that stem from my neck and shoulder tightness. For the first time, I felt like a medical professional was taking my pain seriously. Dr. Mike is extremely talented at what he does and is very gentle, mindful, and caring. I consider my weekly visits with him part of my self-care routine.
Months after I began getting chiropractic adjustments, I started seeing Natalie for acupuncture and cupping. Natalie's services are the cherry on top after a good chiropractic session. Cupping is one of the only things that helps my muscles relax and I always look forward to it. She has a thorough, holistic approach and is one of the friendliest people ever.
When Dr. Mike isn't available (rarely), I see Dr. Bill for my adjustments. He has a different style than Dr. Mike but does a fantastic job of taking care of my neck and back without overdoing it. I feel like a different person after a session with him.
I've seen Mackenzie, their stretch therapist, a few times and she is great at what she does. She helped me realize that a lot of my back and neck issues derive from my general stiffness.
More recently, I've had the pleasure of working with Christine for physical therapy. I recently hurt my back, and with her care, I'm getting better and stronger every day. She is extremely attentive, smart, and caring. I feel like I'm in the MOST capable hands whenever I have a session with her.
Over the three years I've been going to Hudson Family, I've been made to feel so valued and cared for. Dr. John, who oversees the practice, is one of the nicest and most caring people ever. He makes sure that the quality of my care is top-notch, everything is coordinated correctly and has even taken the time to check in on me when I've been injured and couldn't make my appointments. He is the exact person you need to run this type of operation.
To make a long story short, I could not give a more glowing review of Hudson Family, and I credit their team for the massive improvement in my quality of life since I started seeing them. Thank you...
Read moreAbsolutely the best in the area, hands down!
I transitioned from an office nearby and am very happy with the care I am receiving. I’ve been to many PTs and chiros in the area and I’ve noticed a lot of them do the bare minimum and bill your insurance the max. I appreciate that the chiropractors here actually take the time to do the soft tissue trigger point work and stretching themselves.
I have a disc bulge in my neck and neck/shoulder issues from a decade of sewing (art major) and now working in an office. I also have a hypermobile neck and Dr John and Dr Mike are super mindful of that and don’t try to force my adjustments to pop like some other places have done in the past. Dr John is an extremely skilled chiropractor (and the owner) , he was able to get a very tricky part of my neck to adjust that had never went with the last 3 chiropractors I had seen.
Shikha is an AMAZING PT. My posture has severely improved under her program, moreso than any other therapist I’ve seen. A lot of PTs use the same cookie cutter formula for neck issues. I’m learning exercises with Shika that I have never done in the last ten years, and everyone has complimented my improved posture!
The scraping (graston technique) is amazing and the cupping is also an added benefit that has significantly improved my pain on a bad day. Shes also helped me with some hip pain I had after a 16 hour flight. They also don’t overbook so you get a good PT-patient ratio.
The vibe is relaxed and everyone is so friendly and welcoming, no sterile environment here and best of all its owned by a Hoboken local who really cares about his business and well being of their patients. I never feel pushed to book more appointments, and always encouraged to do whats best for my health.
The out of pocket cost is also very reasonable compared to others in the area, and I highly recommend this practice to anyone who wants to get out of pain and get...
