Let me start off by saying the food was amazing & the service was also amazing. 10/10 in those aspects. HOWEVER - they do NOT do the "double sanitized with disinfectant and high intensity ultra violet light after every use, they are also vented to keep air circulating" with their Soul Shacks. I witnessed one booth NOT get disinfected at all between customers. Only the dishes were cleared. Then 3 more booths only get 1 round of "disinfecting" which is really just spraying down the table with cleaning spray (which is the same amount of cleaning bars did pre-covid). There is a heater inside - but I do not think this heater acts as "vented to keep air circulating". They would leave the doors open to the booths in between customers but that would only be for about 2-3 minutes. It looked like there was a window at the top of our soul shack but it was rubber banded shut & did not look like we could open it. I NEVER once saw their "MTA Ultraviolet fogger" used by anyone at any time. This was the first restaurant we've been to in a year & we thought we were choosing a safe spot. I am not confident our booth was cleaned based on what they advertise on their site & not sure how many people had been in that booth throughout the day before we were there. We will likely get tested in a few days to be safe. Not sure when we will attempt to eat out again - but it will most likely be somewhere with tables out in the open & outside. I get that things are busier over the holidays but you cannot skip steps in the cleaning process - especially if you clearly state it on your own website that you do these things. Perhaps they need more staff to keep up with the amount of cleaning that needs to be done or they overbooked their booths.

I went to celebrate my birthday yesterday solo and I went to try to get seated and the staff brushed me off , pointing to the Uber eats location like I didn’t even ask for that which was weird. Then I asked for a seat and the server had a slight attitude like he didn’t want to server me. So I continued to try to enjoy myself. Food was good. But I wish the server would’ve given me some more information about my drink but whatever that’s fine I guess. I lowkey feel like he didn’t want to help me with anything. Once my food came he didn’t check on me or anything the one time I asked for ICE for my drink he acted like he was annoyed judging from gestures and body language. But once I asked for the check and I paid with my card. I clicked no tip with the intentions to give him a cash tip but He had the nerve to ask me why I clicked no tip ?! And went back and forth with me I asked him to relax I’ve never been to a establishment that asked me for a tip or why I wasn’t tipping and I also said if you look closer in my hand I had the tip in my hand already. Which was sooo rude. Honestly speaking I decided not to tip and I told him why I wasn’t I never experienced that before. It didn’t leave me with a warm feeling about this restaurant.

A group of girlfriends and I decided to try this spot out and I was looking forward to it. When I arrived I had to circle the area a bit and finally found a parking spot. The place was cute and they had indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors and it was a closed in area with heaters and filters in each of them and it was a cool idea. Pedro was our waiter and he was good and had a good memory. I ordered the vegan Bodega sandwich which had Just eggs, beyond sausage and violife cheese on a roll and it was pretty good. The girls had different items all around and they liked their meals. For a drink I ordered the vodka tonic which the bartender messed up by putting in seltzer instead. Pedro fixed it himself and it came out good. The bill was reasonable and gratuity was included of 20%. I definitely will be back to try more vegan option meals.

Overall the food was good, unfortunately we didn't have a great waitress. We purposely picked this restaurant to meet friends at because online it shows their menu has gluten free options. My fiancé has Celiac disease and he ordered the house chopped salad and informed the waitress he can't have gluten. The waitress said their dressing for that salad is a beer based dressing - the restaurant shouldn't be advertising it as gluten free if it has beer in it! She also got confused and said there was a vegan option of dressing she can do, which isn't helpful because that doesn't mean gluten free. Food allergies are something that if you're working in a restaurant, you need to know the difference between vegan and gluten free. We called a few days in advance to make a reservation and while we were there, the waitress wasn't giving us enough time to order, she came back three times and then finally told us that there is a party coming in later and they have the whole restaurant booked. We purposely called in advance for the reservation, the restaurant shouldn't have taken a reservation for when we asked if they were going to be pushy to rush us out. Lastly, this is just minor but we ran out of water very quickly (before our food came) and the waitress never came back once until our food was done. I know this is a long post and usually people complain just to complain. If you see my other reviews, most of them are 5 stars. Mainly I wanted to post this because I wouldn't want someone eating there and getting sick or having an...
