I was really excited to check out this spot after reading the glowing reviews about their pizza, but unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to the hype at all. The pizza, which was supposedly the star of the show, was incredibly disappointing. The crust was far too doughy, giving it an overly heavy and chewy texture. The flavors were flat, with none of the crispness or tanginess youâd expect from a well-prepared pie.
We also ordered the hot Burrata, hoping for that creamy, rich experience itâs known for, but again, it missed the mark. The cheese was overly stretchy without much flavor, and it didnât have that indulgent, melt-in-your-mouth quality that makes Burrata so special.
Service was another major letdown. It was painfully slow, and there didnât seem to be any urgency or care in the way our table was managed. We had to flag down staff multiple times for refills and basic requests, and the overall vibe felt disorganized.
On the plus side, the mushroom sliders were fantasticâsmall but packed with flavor. If youâre looking for a decent snack, Iâd recommend those. But letâs be clear: this place is more of a bar than a restaurant, so donât expect a full dining experience. Overall, I wouldnât recommend it for anyone seeking good food or quality service. If you're in the area, maybe grab a drink, but...
Read moreFinally got the chance to check this place out on a Saturday at around 12:45. It wasnât too busy but service was a bit slow since the poor bartender was doing double duty making drinks and serving food.
We ordered two pizzas between me and my husband, which was really ambitious because we probably ate like 1.5 slices each and we were already stuffed. The pies are pretty heavy so I would probably only recommend getting more than one if you have at least 4 people. We had leftovers for days, which I normally wouldnât be mad at pizza leftovers but we literally ate this for at least 4-5 more meals and at that point, itâs a chore (but Iâm also not one to let pizza go to waste).
The two pies we chose were the Earth First (crimini mushroom, shiitake mushroom, caramelized onion, ricotta, truffle oil, and parsley) and the Thuper Thupreme (sweet sausage meatballs, pepperoni, spicy sausage, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, olives, marinara, and oregano). Both were great and so cheesy, with the cheese pushed to the edge, making it super crispy, as a Detroit pizza should be. But like I said, one slice is already really filling. Definitely not something you would want to eat too often.
Will be back to try some of their other menu items. The Street Corn Named Desire pie, and the burrata...
Read moreThis place is amazing. Great food and great cocktails. Cool decor when you walk in. They have pin ball machine backs hanging up in some spots which is cool. It would be even cooler if they had a pin ball machine. But anyway this place is still awesome. Filling up at 530 on a Saturday and an hour later it was filled. A big party in the front as well.
Staff were extremely friendly and approached us right away asking were we wanted to sit.
Each cocktail we got was excellent and worth the $14. My husband got the notorious FIG and it was delicious. You could actually taste both the fig and cocoa. It was so good. I got the hitching a ride which had pineapple flavors and made me feel like I was on an island.
We shared one pizza. 6 slices per pizza and I thought 1 pizza was enough to share. It was thick and crispy and gooey. We got the motor city which is a pepperoni pizza. It comes with hot honey on the side. Itâs spicy as is with the pepperoni so I didnât use too much of the hot honey, but it was very good. The only other Detroit style pizza I have tried was Emily squared. And this place is much better!! At least in my opinion. Apparently this place had been open for 5 years and I had no idea! We only moved to the area a couple of years ago. We will...
