After finding ourselves searching for pizza with outdoor dining outside after 10pm, we had very few options local to Hoboken/JC. This is how we stumbled upon The Brick, and we were not disappointed! To provide context, I give this restaurant 5 stars for outdoor Italian dining after 10pm, but have further criticisms if that was not the case.
Truthfully, we have overlooked The Brick for years, as the counter-service atmosphere (my reasoning for 2 stars) and fierce Italian dining competition didn’t give it any stand-out features.
However, we were satisfied by our meal! We started with the complimentary garlic knots, which were addictive. We then had the fried calamari and chopped salad. The calamari was fresh and we did enjoy it all, though admittedly it was not competitive with other calamaris in the area. The salad was also everything we expected and a big portion which I liked.
We then had a medium pizza, half chicken parm (with a personal modification of Vodka sauce instead of tomato) and half prosciutto-arugula. The crust was crispy, and the toppings went well together. I do think the toppings may have been a bit top-heavy for the pie, as I typically prefer a thinner NY style slice, but I still enjoyed it.
We finished with the Spaghetti Fra Diavolo. It was good, but also not top tier Italian. Very spicy, if you’re into that!
I was intrigued by the large vegan and gluten-free menu, which I had no idea about and would definitely recommend to folks with dietary restrictions.
Overall, I think this is one of the best options for late-night sit-down outdoor Italian dining. But go any earlier, and the plethora of other options unfortunately...
Read moreThis place has multiple gluten free options and the food is pretty good if you go in person but I highly advise against ordering delivery from them. Regardless of how close or far away you live or what app you order from they are always late. Most recently, after waiting over an hour after the specified delivery time I gave up on hoping the food would arrive and contacted the courier service who canceled and refunded my order. Immediately after canceling my order the restaurant called me about why I canceled and when I said they were over an hour late and I thought the food was not going to arrive they guilt tripped me and said the delivery person was nearby and convinced me to wait for the food and pay them directly over the phone. Despite not even wanting the food anymore I gave in and what a waste of money. The courier did drop the food off but it was stale and gross. I ordered a salad and two appetizers and they had packed it all together and it had been sitting for over an hour so the appetizers were ice cold and soggy and the salad was warm and wilted. I cannot believe I let them guilt trip me into paying for inedible food that I had waited two hours for and they didn't even give me a discount as an apology or anything. Waste of time and money will not be ordering from them again. Also way overpriced, just for the record. A caesar salad with no toppings and an order of mozz sticks and calamari were over $60. Are you serious? $16+ alone just for some romaine lettuce and dressing. I feel completely duped and taken...

WOW, this place just blew my socks off. A big group of us (8) came in looking for a big spread of food to fill us up. We ordered the garlic knots, buffalo wings, and two large pies—one of them was plain/vodka marghetita, the other was buff chick/sausage.
The garlic knots are no lie some of the best I’ve ever had. Crispy first bite with a soft dough and an incredible amount of seasoning on the outside. I would order these a million times over for a late night snack.
Wings were way better than I was anticipating. Solid, well sauced, and big wings were a great appetizer.
There’s not enough words in the English language to describe the pedigree of this pizza. Seriously, each type of pizza was fresh, crispy, and flowing in flavor. The flavor of the buffalo chicken, the freshness of the tomato sauce, the amount of sausage, the variety of the vodka—our whole group loved each type of pie we had. Whether it’s for a family dinner, food for game day, or late night eats after a night out, The Brick DELIVERS in value and quality!!
Our server, Daniella, was so kind and attentive and so readily accessible to get us extra utensils, sauces, and plates. All in all, we were so pleased and satisfied with everything this establishment had to offer and will absolutely be frequenting this place...
