I've been there several times. Recently I had the hot link dinner, two links and 2 sides. The spicy BBQ sauce is very good. The links were good, but I wished they offered a jalapeno and cheddar option. The pork and beans was excellent and the HW pasta salad was very good.
One another visit, I had a pulled-pork sandwich, the sweet pea pasta, the chili. The sandwich is large but the bun did not hold up well, it would have been better if the bun had been toasted. The pasta salad was good. The chili was excellent, but the portion size and the price is pretty high for what you get. A note on the chili and the website. The website has a separate listing for the chili at $7.50. Either that price on the website is wrong, or something else is going on. Each portion of a side can be ordered at just under $4.00. I've had the chili as a side and it was the same portion size when I ordered it as an extra. I don't know if they have another larger container for the chili at the $7.50 price. Maybe some who works there can explain this for me.
There is seating for 24 inside and outdoor seating is available as well. They have a normal fountain soda (pop) setup. Utensils, napkins, and condiments are tucked in a corner by the soda fountain. The staff is friendly, but they tend to disappear into the backroom when there are no customers waiting to order. Order fulfillment is usually just a couple of minutes when they are not busy. They tend to have some interesting customers.
I will note that after several additional visits, the main issue seem s to be consistency, or the...
Read moreI recently tried Jog Wild BBQ and had a delightful experience overall. I ordered their spicy BBQ pulled pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw. The pulled pork in the sandwich was absolutely amazing; it was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. However, I must admit that the "spicy" BBQ sauce was not as fiery as I had hoped for, and I would have preferred a bit more kick to it. Nonetheless, the taste was still excellent, and I would definitely order it again!
As for the coleslaw, I have mixed feelings about it. The presentation of an all red cabbage and red onions coleslaw didn't quite appeal to me visually, and it didn't pack as much flavor as I expected. While it wasn't terrible, it didn't leave a lasting impression, and I might skip it on my next visit to try something different from their menu.
The restaurant itself is cozy and charming, but being small, it can get quite crowded during peak hours. Despite that, the service was surprisingly swift, and we received our food in a timely manner. The staff was incredibly friendly, which added to the overall pleasant dining experience.
In conclusion, Jog Wild BBQ offers a fantastic pulled pork sandwich that, despite the mild spiciness, delivers on taste and tenderness. I'd recommend giving it a try! While the coleslaw didn't quite hit the mark for me, there are plenty of other tempting options on their menu that I look forward to exploring on my next visit. If you're a fan of good BBQ in a warm atmosphere, this is a spot worth...
Read moreI used to love this place. I picked up 2 1/2 chicken dinners, and a 1/2 order of ribs, after a couple of bites from my family they were put in the trash. The chicken was extremely overcooked and then possibly sat in steam but when you bit into it, it was just mushy in your in your mouth. The ribs were not fresh maybe smoked a week ago, dry, sharp meat and then buried in sauce I guess to try to remoisten it. Was not even able to be swallowed it was that bad.
The only good thing was the pea salad, but I believe someone else makes that.
Edit: 8:32pm adding to respond to the owners comment. I was very much so the person who ordered and the only one who ordered at the counter and very much so a female was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. I was there at apprx 1pm. There was an older gentleman, I am assuming you the owner who took my order, and payment.
The food was DEFINATELY OVER COOKED, and the RIBS WERE dry, overcooked, and drowned in sauce to try to make them appear to be something someone could eat. I was there when the chicken pan was empty, and you removed the tray from...
