Yesterday I placed an order at Bob Evans for the country fried steak three-course dinner anda side of carrots. Firstly, I was refused crackers for my soup. Secondly, I was given no butter for my bread. Thirdly, although the carrots were ordered separately for another individual my chicken fried steak dinner had the carrots and corn in there, but my mashed potatoes were not included. I ordered chicken fried steak with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and corn. Separately I ordered a side of carrots for another individual, not myself. However, once my order got home to me the mashed potatoes were completely omitted and instead the carrots and corn were in my container. If you’re ordering a vegetable as a side it shouldn’t be assumed that that means it is for the same person in the same meal. I’ve been dining and ordering takeout from Bob Evans for many years and although I understand times are tight currently I couldn’t imagine being told, if I were eating in the restaurant, that I cannot have crackers for my soup. Nor can I imagine being told I can’t have butter for my rolls.. But then to also discover my mashed potatoes were omitted and the side for my son of carrots was placed into the same food container which got gravy all over them as well was the final straw. Basically, about half my order was not included. I also ordered the holy cow chocolate cake which is supposed to come with some type of whipped topping but all I received was the cake and none of the topping. I am extremely disappointed with this order and to ensure that I could properly bring to the attention of management that my order was so severely botched I took photos of the meal along with the receipt where it clearly shows there was a chicken fried steak meal with mashed potatoes country gravy and corn and a side of carrots. It also lists the vegetable beef soup and the holy cow dessert. Like I said, I was given no crackers for the soup, no butter for the rolls and no mashed potatoes that I paid for and instead of serving the carrots separately (since they were ordered as an independent side) it was assumed they were part of my meal and placed in my food container which made it very difficult to serve it to another person at my home. I felt this was a bad enough experience that it should be addressed. Of course there have been minute mistakes over the years with my orders, but never to this magnitude. I’m extremely disappointed in Bob Evans for the first time in many many years of being a frequent diner of theirs. Just because we’re in the middle of a pandemic and things are a little tight does not mean you should skimp on the important parts of a persons meal That...
Read moreVery racist , UNFRIENDLY & RUDE. The white lady at the front made a face 🙄 at us as we walked in, as if we didn’t belong there (first sign we were not welcomed) she said “GOOD MORNING” condescendingly, as if I had barked orders at her without greeting first (I hadn’t even spoken yet because we were still walking up towards her) I said , “good morning 🙂 we placed an order over the phone “ & she just looked at us blankly, like we were speaking a foreign language. I looked at my husband confused, looked back at her & said “we placed an order…. over the phone 🤳🏼 & we’re here to pick up” making the phone motion with my hand , at this point I realized the game we were playing so I started acting stupid right along with her. She just said “pick up is over there” 👉🏼 while she turned away from us , shooing / pointing us away from her like we were SUCH an inconvenience. So we went to the counter where she pointed to , told the younger lady that we placed an order over the phone for pick up, she got our food & said “I’ll check you out over at that counter over there” so the first older lady sent us to the wrong counter to begin with (this was our first time in here so we didn’t know where to pick up) my husband paid , then on the screen the question popped up if we wanted to tip, I reached towards the screen to put the tip amount in & before I could even input how much to tip the younger lady goes “JUST HIT THE GREEN BUTTON” ………ok? I was going to tip something on our PICKUP order but now you just lost that because who the hell are you talking to like that? She says “want your receipt?” I said “no you can keep it , I don’t know what the attitude is for & I see why you guys have bad reviews” & walked out. We should’ve left the food and not paid but my kids were hungry & I wasn’t going to make them wait while we went somewhere else to get food just because of poor customer service & racial...
Read moreWe were visiting from out of town and I didn’t know the area. We went in on Thursday night. The staff all seemed kind of meh when we walked in. No one actually seemed happy to be there. They told us it would a long wait for a table. But it was like 7:15pm and I had no idea what else was around we felt like the wait was ok. We actually got sat fairly quick.
We were told that the kitchen wanted a break as they had just had a busy time. When I walked in there was a fairly large group finishing up so I took that into consideration and stayed.
I forgot the waitress name but she had a cast on. She was great. Bubbly sweet and just all around good. She did bring out bread while we waited. And kept apologizing for the wait. The food when it came out was so fresh and hot. I am glad I waited. I had time. And since closing was posted to be at 9pm I felt like I was not an inconvenience.
I really did appreciate the honesty about the wait. I hate when I don’t get communication. The staff was upfront about my wait times and let me decide if I wanted to stay. I would go back. The staffs mood shifted a little and they were all a bit happier after the big group left. It was...
