This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant! This building has housed Mexican food as long as I can remember but has a new name now (the previous restaurant seems to have moved down the road). So it still has the same theme, mostly the same decorations (at least it feels very familiar), and obviously the same floorplan.
I haven't been here in many years, so I can't compare the food to their predecessors, but I know and love Mexican food. The enchiladas and fried ice cream I had here were second to none! Perhaps to appeal to as many as possible, most restaurants serve chicken enchiladas that are quite bland, ground beef has that typical "taco meat" flavor, chorizo is a little bland, etc.
Not here! Everything I tasted was more tasty than any other local restaurant, and was still served in the usual generous helpings. It was so good that I had to force myself to not finish my giant plate, just so I could enjoy some fried ice cream, which was perfect!
We visited at a slow time, so I can't speak to service at busy times, but our wait times and service were excellent. The chips and salsa tasted fresh, drinks were refilled promptly, the food was hot and quick.
Our server couldn't have done a better job and if the food was any better I may have moved in. The town square motif is done well, with an airy feel to the entry and bar area. The ceilings in the upper dining room may feel a little low, but they allow for a cozy feel and noise control (something sorely lacking in most restaurants of any type).
Like I said, this is my new favorite place for Mexican food. I'm so glad...
Read moreWe have gone to this restaurant for years and the service and food used to be great. The last 2-3 times we have gone, we have been very disappointed. Tonight we were sat at a table that was too small for the party we had. We asked for a table for 7 and were seated at a table for 6. The table near us looked rather irritated by this even though this was not our choice. We waited a very long time to order drinks and then our food. (This would have been an easier process had we been given menus.) My drink came out with black things floating in it. Our food order was completely wrong. When we tried to explain, our server became frustrated and said "whatever" then walked away. The manager came to try to figure out the order and it still came out completely wrong the second time. We decided to just accept what was brought out and even that food was cold. The people sitting next to us complained about how close our son was to their table and rather than make the mistakes right, the manager came over and told me the other table was complaining about us. We had enough at this point, asked for our bill and it too was wrong. This makes me sad, as this is a place close to home that we used to enjoy going to. I am not usually one to complain, mistakes happen, especially when you're busy. But...its how you handle those mistakes that make the difference. Making sure your customers receive whats ordered and maybe not telling tables that others are complaining about them would be a good start. So, we will not be...
Read moreHave been here a handful of times and was not really impressed. This last visit will be just that the last. We were seated quickly and given chips and salsa quickly as well. It was busy but our waiter took forever to come to our table so we were sitting without beverages for a good 20 mins. When he finally came over he didn’t even ask us what we were having to drink he immediately asked if we were ready to order. So we order are food and 2 pops and 1 marg. He then brings us the marg and 2 waters and doesn’t return to the table for the pops. As we were waiting for him to come back so we could ask where our pops were someone totally different brings our food out. So we wait a few more minutes and start eating and finally had to ask another waitress for our pops. He finally comes over and asks how we were and by that time we were ready for our checks. We both ordered the # 51 the Cinco De Mayo burrito. It tasted good but I only ate half and my friend ate three quarters of hers and within an hr we were both very sick and had to cut our shopping trip short because of how sick we were. My friend was sick for a few days after luckily I was only sick that night. Sooo moral of the story dont eat here unless you want crappy service while your there and when...
