Le Cafe In — Restaurant in Hollywood

My husband and I check out new cafes and coffee places every single week. This place was rated 4.7 stars when we went on a Monday afternoon around 3:20 pm. The place has seating inside and outside and looks tidy and relatively clean. It was empty at this hour with the exception of 1 lady sitting on the couch inside munching on a sandwich. I ordered the chicken pesto toaster after reading reviews and we were extremely disappointed. It was extremely dry, too much breading, it was room temperature which was odd because paninis are usually served hot right? It was not even warm 😵‍💫 barely any chicken, barely any cheese and soggy tomatoes. My husband had a few bites, I tired it and then we threw it away. I wouldn’t have paid even $5 for that (cost us about $11). We ordered a simple latte which was decent and then a Nutella banana croffle which flat out sucked. It was dry, the bananas were old and soggy, like way too overripe (did not taste good and my husband was so angry he tossed that too). The croissant was chewy (usually happens when they toss it in the microwave) and did not taste fresh at all and it was tiny!! I’m not one to usually write reviews unless I am very disappointed or very impressed. This visit was super disappointing. On top of all of that, I was the only one that ordered food and the only one in there and still waited over 20 minutes for low quality gas station level food that was room temperature…not even warm. On top of that, we tipped before receiving anything. About to call and complain for a refund. Friendly cashier, but wow the long wait and crappy food? Like I haven’t had food that bad since I don’t know when. Go elsewhere, so many better places to eat...

I used to be a regular at Le Café In, in downtown Hollywood. They used to have an amazing barista name Rob and his wife Masha which were employees. In the last couple of weeks I have been coming and did not see them. The other day I ran into them and asked what happened. To learn that they were fired and the excuses that they were told did not make sense. I believe the reason why they got fired is due to a medical condition that Masha has. It was completely wrong to fire her and her husband for this. I believe you can not fire an employ for a medical condition. Also the owners shorted them on there hourly pay and tips. (they both been working there for 8 months or more) They brought knowledge and 4 yrs plus of coffee industry to this Cafe. I believe if it wasn't for them, this place would have not been around this long. Since they are not there, the food is either undercooked or burnt. The coffee does not taste the same.There is no vibe what so ever and the atmosphere was very lively when they were there..Now , there is no atmosphere. Not a fun place to go to. The people there don't understand you when you place order , due to the language barrier. When , I was there couple days ago, the lady in front of me ordered a coffee and food. The girl there messed up the ladies drink and did not want to even fix it. How rude and very bad customer service. To top it off, this businesses is antisemitic ( they don't like jewish people) I will for sure not go back to this...

I had come here before and really enjoyed it but I recently went and did not have the best experience. The young lady that took order was nice but sadly everything went downhill after we placed our order. We ordered a coffee, a tea, avocado toast, a pastry and waffle. After a while we got our drinks and waited probably about 35 min before i went up to the counter to say my coffee was cold (only drank half because I was waiting for my food). I was asked if I wanted to get it reheated ? No thanks lol. Then I would think I'd be offered another coffee due to the long wait but was still charged. At this point my moms tea got cold too. The food finally came out, it was really good but the waffle never came out nor the pastry. Not once we're we offered anything nor did I feel anyone cared. I finally went up to the counter and said don't worry about the waffle and pastry bc we waited almost an hour. There was literally no one else in the cafe so I'm not sure why it took so long nor why no one had the curtesy to tell us something was delaying our order. The young lady refunded the pastry and waffle but I feel we could have been tended to differently. I was very disappointed...
