At a glance this place looks like a winner, but when we came this night (sunday) it was basically empty (inside and out) around 7:15pm. The dining room was impeccable, all the linen etc. but from here it went down. The lady serving was quick (too quick) and we were making our decisions based on what we already had read online, so we didn't bother, but it was a sign. The beef-carpaccio was already pre made and just the salad was put on top, not really a big deal as the taste and presentation was good but the speed of turning around between ordering and serving got the feeling of fast food (slapped together). Our main dishes (veal marsala and fettuccine alfredo) came pretty much directly after cleaning the table of the appetizers, like they needed the table to turn around in an empty restaurant. The busboy who cleaned the appetizers took our silverware from the appetizers and placed them on the table cloth although there was a small serving plate??!! Why bother with white linen tablecloth if you are doing snackbar service. The main course came and we asked for parmesan cheese which should have been served automatically with the pasta, however when served they placed it totally across the table far away from the pasta dish, like they had no clue why the cheese was requested. The 'home-made' pasta was undercooked (not even al dente) and the alfredo sauce was blend, okay some might have different opinions but I was expecting some kind of bacon bits in there, but again this is personal, but the undercooked blend fettuccine alfredo did not make any star. The veal marsala did not even get to be in the group recognition, the sauce was bad, the mushrooms did not taste well, the meat was unseasoned and the whole presentation looked like ' we don't know what we got', the french fries served were fried in the fryer that had also other things fried and this cross blended the taste of the crispy side dish, a disaster. One good thing the lady serving took our criticism very well but never came back with a response from the kitchen, except when we asked for the check they were offering us a free desert which we didn't wanted as we had seen enough. They comped the main dished, as they should, that was at least their answer of their total failure, we were not out for a free-be, we left and were still hungry and ended up down the road. The expectation and the delivery of their online promise is something to be desired, white line cloth and nice atmosphere is not buying quality experience and food, do some work on your service, communication and start...

Nestled in the heart of Hollywood, Florida, Villa Romana Restaurant is an enchanting Italian-Romanian establishment that strikes a harmonious balance between two rich culinary traditions. Although our visit allowed us to explore only the Romanian offerings, each dish was a testament to the authentic and vibrant flavors that define this exquisite cuisine.
I am writing this review about the wonderful Romanian food, which was delicious, fresh, and truly amazing. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were captivated by its elegant ambiance. The decor exuded warmth and sophistication, inviting us into an intimate dining experience. We were warmly greeted by Andrei, whose attentive and personable service set the tone for an unforgettable meal.
Our culinary adventure commenced with the appetizer plate, a delightful selection that showcased the best of Romanian starters. Every bite was a celebration of flavor, preparing our palates for the treats to come. My husband indulged in the ciolan, a succulent dish that exemplified the rich and hearty essence of Romanian cuisine, while my mother and I delighted in the traditional sarmale. These delicate cabbage rolls, stuffed with savory minced meat and rice, were slow-cooked to perfection and served with a rich, tangy tomato sauce—comfort food at its finest.
To complement our meal, my mother and I ordered the Hugo Spritz, which arrived in magnificent portions. This refreshing drink was not only visually stunning but also bursting with fruity flavors, making it an excellent accompaniment to our dishes.
As we approached dessert, we could hardly contain our anticipation. We shared the sweet and indulgent papanas, a traditional Romanian treat paired with sour cream and fruit preserves, as well as the luscious profiteroles. Each dessert was a delightful finale, encapsulating the artistry of Romanian sweets.
In essence, our dining experience at Villa Romana Restaurant was absolutely memorable. The combination of exquisite Romanian dishes, exceptional service by Andrei, and the charming atmosphere made for an outstanding evening. I wholeheartedly recommend guests to explore the Romanian menu here. In a city brimming with dining options, this restaurant stands out, beautifully showcasing the delightful flavors of Romania in a setting that is both classy...
