Disrespectful, misogynistic, and upcharging management! Not one to EVER give bad reviews, but Octopus Garden left a lot to be desired. Service is AWFUL. Drinks were overcharged and General Manager does not care to treat customers lawfully.
I walked in with a group of girls, not rowdy, not drunk. We sat down, and ordered a drink. One of our girls ordered water, and although the bartender on the floor did not charge, the second bartender, who happened to be the General manager decided to charge for the TAP WATER. By LAW, if alcohol is served at any business, they HAVE to provide free drinking water. We asked if he was serious about the charge, considering it was tap water in a plastic cup, and he insisted. As one of out girls reluctantly gave him a 5 dollar bill, he threw a tantrum, and threw the dollar back in her face. He insulted the group, calling me a Motherfuing bih repeatedly, and kicked us out. Astounded, we walked out of the bar, and along with several other men who witnessed it, and decided it was uncalled for. That one single question, which was delivered in a casual, borderline friendly way, was received with yelling and cursing from the General Manager- MANAGEMENT. We walked off, and I returned a minute later to try and make peace with the man. We were not a problematic bunch. Rather than speaking to me or at the very least signaling to me to not come in, he put his hand on me, 120 lb small female, and yelled at the bouncer to throw me out and call the police.
THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. HE CANNOT PUT HIS HANDS ON A WOMAN, regardless of WHAT HE THINKS is going to happen. I approached him calmly, which the BOUNCER AGREED on, and tried to establish some sort of dialogue, especially given the fact, that his aggressive behavior did not match the situation or the people he was interacting with.
Upset that he laid his hands on me, I took his advice and went directly to the nearest cop. (They usually stand by their cars in Hollywood Beach in case fights break out.)
Upon approaching the cops for advice, they went to talk to him. They were unable to do anything as it is a private business and the General Manager, apparently is entitled to behave as he pleases. THE POLICE apologized several times to try and make up for his ABSURD behavior, and followed it with, “Management does whatever they want here, It’s a private business, I’m really sorry.”
My thoughts on this is simple. SPREAD THE WORD. TEACH THIS MAN THAT HE CANNOT TREAT, CHARGE, OR INSULT A CUSTOMER IN WHATEVER WAY HE WANTS. As a business owner, he should know better, and needs to understand that the nature of his business calls for respectable behavior since he interacts with people, especially inebriated people every day. He cannot do that to another person again. Please pay it forward, and do yourself and others a favor. DO NOT go in.
Shady and unacceptable service, DO NOT RECOMMEND. YOU HAVE...
Read moreOctopus Garden Bar is hands down one of the best spots to enjoy a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere with great drinks and tasty food. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the lively yet cozy vibe — a perfect mix of fun and chill, ideal for catching up with friends or enjoying a casual night out.
The cocktail menu is fantastic, featuring creative and well-crafted drinks that perfectly complement the menu offerings. I tried their signature octopus appetizer, which was tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For my main course, the seafood paella was a standout — loaded with fresh, high-quality ingredients and bursting with rich, satisfying flavors.
The staff at Octopus Garden Bar were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every detail of my visit was enjoyable without being intrusive. The outdoor seating area adds a lovely touch, letting you soak in the fresh air while enjoying your meal and drinks.

Read moreI was at the bar last night, I don't usually drink alcohol so I ordered 2 diet cokes, I was enjoying the music and minding my own business when a guy came over to me and asked me if I want a beer, I thought he was a gay man offering me a beer, I politely told him thanks but I don't drink, he asked me if I want to sing karaoke I said no, he left, a few minutes later he came back and told me I'm the security guard, this is a bar why don't you buy alcohol? I explained that I don't drink alcohol but I enjoy the music, he told me this is weird and he started to interrogate me if I do drugs, if I carry drugs, if I ever smoked weed (as licensed real estate agent and a concealed license holder, I was background checked and fingerprinted multiple times just in the last year) he then told me you have 10 minutes to buy another drink or I'll take you out, I this was very rude, very inappropriate and...
