Pepe's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Homer Glen

Wife arrived for pickup 15 minutes after the pickup time. They didn't have food ready and then kept giving her really bad expectations about how its coming soon without actually checking. Eventually, they asked what her order was and then looked around and it seems like they didn't have it. It took a little over 30 minutes to get the food and she was holding a one year old the whole time. To be fair, staff did check in on her once in awhile with surface level care. Finally ready to check out, they mentioned a discount, put it on the receipt, but when we paid cash, they took the full amount.. When she got back, an entree was missing and we noticed they didn't take our order accurately, so the other entree was missing the meat. When I called, both times it was picked up and immediately hung up.

Overall, they missed items during ordering process, were almost an hour late on filling the order, were horrible with customer experience in a bad situation, missed items that we paid for, took money that can't be accounted for, and gave us no way to reconcile it, so I'm posting here. We don't blame the staff entirely. It was chaos...

Absolutely awful. I ordered the Mayan combo; tostada suiza, taco and enchilada suiza. First of all the food was out literally five minutes after we ordered. Like how prepared are these items beforehand. The tostada suiza was soggy, had to eat it with a fork and knife. The taco as well felt wet and fell apart while eating it. I didn’t even bother with the enchilada. After making known to the manager my issues, no offer of resolution was made. He claimed that’s how tostadas are as I pointed out to him how soggy what was left on my plate. He said this came out 20 minutes ago of course it’s going to be like that, well Einstein I didn’t wait 20 minutes to eat it, this is exactly how it was when it came out. I then pointed out that other Pepe’s food is not like this. His response to me “not all Pepe’s are the same”. Well apparently not and no wonder there were hardly any customers on a Saturday evening. He didn’t seem to care that we were dissatisfied. Plenty of other Pepe’s to go to, heck I’ll go back to the one on 63rd and kedzie before I ever go...

The food was horrible. Steak fajita meat tasted old and smelt like old meat that was overcooked to prevent food born illness. We were asked what we wanted to order the minute we sat down before getting a chance to look at a menu. Requested a little time and didn't see a server again for almost 20 minutes. Three people ordered the same thing , but when the food arrived, only one order came out. The person delivering thought they were all sharing one order, leading us to believe they put in only one even after reading back to us three. Then, it took 20 minutes to get the other two that came out horribly prepared. Then they messed up the charges on the bill. The drink special was 3 dollars more than advertised. The place was horribly kept up with moldy ceiling tiles that were almost falling down due to excess moisture. Don't look up in the dining room if you are bothered by unsanitary conditions. Second time visiting with similar results....
