Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Homewood

Service was horrible!! The friendly young host who seated us was nice. We waited for about 15 minutes before we even were asked what we wanted to drink, and that was only when the host realized our server hadn't even got our drinks yet and he took our drink order and promptly brought them to us. Then it probably took another 10 minutes before the server came to take our order. When she came to the table she realized we didn't have straws (which we didn't mind), so she left again to get straws instead of going ahead and taking our order and then getting us straws. She finally came back to get our order. We sat there about 25 minutes before our food was brought out. She brought out 2 of our orders and then we waited a couple more minutes before getting the 3rd order. Then she asked if there was anything we needed and we had to tell her silverware! Thankfully our child had ordered chicken tenders so he could start eating without silverware. The waitress never came back to check on us after bringing our food. All 3 of us needed refills, but that never happened. We were all so thirsty that my boyfriend shared his iny little bit of watered down sweet tea that was left at the bottom of his glass with me and our son. I took only a small sip so our son could have most of what was left. We waited and waited, even after we were done eating...our waitress had been by a couple times bringing other guests their food but never once asked if we needed refills or anything else. After we were tired of sitting there for so long, my boyfriend got up to see if he could just find someone to give us our ticket so we could pay and get out of there. He had food left over, but if we couldn't get refills then we surely weren't going to be able to get a to-go box! When he went to find someone, he ran into the manager by the bar and they asked if they could help or what he needed, and he explained to them everything that had went wrong. Our waitress suddenly decided appeared then and grabbed the ticket like she was just coming to take care of that. The manager didn't apologize or anything for the awful service. We then paid for our food and walked out. The first thing we did when we arrived home was grab drinks because we were all so thirsty!! Needless to say, we will not be going back to Chili's...

Oh where do I start.

3 of us entered this location to find no one at the hostess stand. She was bussing tables while a couple of ladies looked out from the kitchen to see 3 groups waiting to be seated. One that was looking at us finally came over to seat us. We were placed right near the kitchen. This is where it starts to get really bad. There's zero reason to be speaking in such raised voices that we can hear every profanity they are saying. This is not professional one bit.

The waitress comes over and finally takes our drink order. Disappears after droppibg the drinks off. Comes back maybe 10 minutes later to take our order. One of my daughters and I placed the 2 meals for 25 order. Skip ahead about 25 minutes for our food to be brought out. First refill of the night at the point. Far too long. My daughter was served corn with her meal. She doesn't eat corn and never ordered it. She ordered double fries. First order is wrong. My order, 6 oz sirloin is served without the butter on top and with only one side. No broccoli. I was told it was coming. It never showed up.

Dessert portion of our 2 for 25 was the cookie. Ice cream was served as soup in a bowl. Apparently their freezer was broken. We should have been informed of this beforehand. The cookie... wow. Paper wrapping on the bottom of the cookie.

Our drinks were refilled only two times in an hour. Our check was brought out showing a total of $10 more than it should have been. Why? Well she rang it 2 meals for 25 up totally separate. I needed to have her fix that.

Overall experience was really bad. I don't care if they say they are short staffed. I don't mind waiting an extra time. Just refill my glass and make sure my order is correct.

Our waitress got involved in a screaming match with angry customers because they weren't being seated. I don't care to know the gossip. It's also not professional to flash your tips right next to your customers. Also not good to have your friends hang out as your customers are eating.

2 stars is being very generous as is the tip I ended up leaving out of pity. I will not recommend this location of...

My son is a college student in town, so we have visited here twice, as it’s close to campus. The food has been fine, but the service below standard on both visits. I’m not one to normally leave reviews, but this place is struggling and I hope this may help lead to improvements, as I’d like to visit again vs finding a new spot.

We visited last night (three of us). There was about a 30 minute wait, which was not surprising for a Saturday night. What wasn’t normal, was being seated and not seeing our server for 30 minutes after we sat down at the table. At one point I caught eye contact with the hostess and she brought us drinks, but we didn’t even know who our server was for 30 minutes. The place was full, but not crazy busy. Not so busy that someone couldn’t walk by the table, say hello & let us know there was a delay.

We saw two other tables leave. They gave up on getting service, as there servers never visited their tables. One was in our section, the other in the section next to us. I’m pointing this out, as it wasn’t just one server not handling business. Another table got up and found their own napkins and flatware.

Our server was ok when we finally were introduced, but she brought us our check (the little checkout machine) about five minutes after we got our food. We weren’t asked if we wanted dessert, etc.

We had a similar experience on the previous visit, also a Saturday evening, but very slow in the restaurant. On that occasion, our server disappeared after our food was brought to the table. I ended up having to ask another employee for our check. At that point our server returned after being MIA for about 20 minutes.

I left tips on both occasions, because that’s what I do, but the service was way below standard on both occasions. I wasn’t expecting to be entertained, just wanting the standard stuff like putting in a drink order within a few minutes, ordering food soon after that, eating my food, getting my check, then leaving in a reasonable amount of time.
