This was not a good choice and was fairly disappointed after getting my takeout order. Every year, I try to eat Chinese food on or close to the start of the new Lunar year, but was late this year due to my busy schedule. Happened to have a moment to remember and it was time for lunch when I saw this place. I've seen it for years and have always noticed a line to get in, so figured it must be decent. I was wrong.
The overall food was not bad tasting, but just not very tasty. About the only thing going for it was the very large portions they gave with my item selection from their takeout buffet style selection. It is probably the type of place that is very popular with folks that don't know any better, but my disappointment with my expectations what what Chinese food should be.
Although disappointed with the taste, it wasn't horrible. The value for how much I paid, made it bearable I guess. For a hungry working man, I guess it would hit the spot. However, this isn't for someone like me that likes the real deal with food prepared the traditional way with traditional flavors that are supposed to represent the culture of the...
Read moreHad never heard of this place. Thanks to a video from Amanda and Felix Eats, I was intrigued. This place is currently takeout only, and there is a surcharge for using a credit card. I chose the 3 item BBQ combo plate with roast pork, roast duck, and black bean spareribs off the steam table. The roast duck was good, the roast pork was fabulous, as was the black bean spareribs. Despite Felix's admonishment to ask for the fatty roast pork, I just let them give me what they gave me, which was lean. The pork was tender, juicy, tender, flavorful, and the skin was so crisp and crunchy without being hard. I had to chuckle as the server piled on the black bean spareribs. That was a meal in itself! It was a bit spicy, which was great. Lean and tender with great flavor. All of this for $17 plus tax and tip. Unbelievable! Went back a couple of days later to confirm the quality. Got the same thing, although the roast pork was fattier. Yes, this is a winner in my and my wife's book. Both times she and I shared the combo, and had about...
Read moreGreat hole in the wall place for Chinese. Portions run large so be prepared for a large meal. When I was there I was in the middle of a major diet (lost over 100#s at the time I was there) so told the girl that I wanted a small - medium portion of Kau Yuk and a small portion of Chow Fun noodles. My wife was also on a diet and had a small portion of Cold Chinese Chicken and noodles. After we explained to the girl why we wanted such a small amount of food she was nice enough to charge less than the whole price (even though we were willing to). Will go back the next visit we make to...
