Nice place to hang and relax in Waikiki. Bar top, nice lounge chairs surrounding the smallish pool or tables to just eat and talk story.
Swim which the name for this pool area offers a Happy Hour menu with good prices, considering your in Waikiki. Only 3 beers on tap (well chosen, a least for me). I was surprised Mai Tai HH was only $6, that's almost unheard of in Waikiki.
Being a bar fly like some people I know, you know who you are, bartender interaction was good, friendly. We ordered a Paniolo Ranch Fries ($6 HH) and the Beach Burger & Brew ($15 HH). The craft draft beer counted as the brew, good deal. Where can you get Elysian Space Dust IPA for $5 HH, No Place! Happy Hour is from 4-6pm. I would come back to her just for this beer, and maybe the HH Pupu. On our second visit I ordered the HH Poke Nachos and the Famous Garlic Chicken both were excellent. Don't expect large portions, your paying Happy Hour prices. Sharing 2-4 dishes between two people is perfect along with some cool libations.
The Truffle Aioli was a nice touch in the burger, we order all the toppings for the fries on the side, that was a good idea for those who don't like it loaded. Flat screen TV's located all around the bar area, great watch Sports and kick back a few.
Just a warning, if you miss Happy Hour your going to pay the normal Waikiki prices for the drinks. I won't say how much, but you could buy a six pack for the amount you pay...
Read moreI’ve been a guest at Hyatt for many years, and even stayed at Hyatt Waikiki for long period of time before moving back to the mainland. I am down visiting with my friend and was excited to show her the swim & restaurant bar. This has been on our itinerary for months. We had a very unpleasant encounter with a man working around the pool.
He came up to my friend and I and asked if we needed any help. He then informed us that only guest are welcomed. I was confused because online it says the bar&restaurant “welcome to the public”. I explained to him that online it says you didn’t need to be a guest, but with a confused look on my face, I still grabbed my stuff to leave.
The man responded with an aggressive tone and let us know that he could show us a handbook with his security guards where it says “guests only”. I have never delt with such a rude Hyatt employee despite my many stays with Hyatt. This situation could have been handled better as I was only asking a...
Read moreI had to go to two seminars at the Hyatt. I was so glad that I found this place for lunch. First of all, my waitress was amazing. I was thankful that she was the one that served my food. I wished I got her name so I could give her the recognition she deserves. She is a local lady and works during lunch around 12:30. She made sure I got my food right away and I wasn't late going back to the seminar. Next, the food was delicious. I wish I took a picture of my scrumptious burger. The meat was well seasoned. I also got the Kalua pork flat beard... Wow wow wow. Really delicious! I don't like pineapple on my food, BUT this was perfect. I'm bringing my family here during lunch when I have a staycation in Waikiki. Here is another plus... You get a Kamaaina discount. I'm looking forward to another seminar so I can eat here again. Don't hesitate to eat here and ask for the...
