The Edge of Waikiki — Restaurant in Honolulu

Normally, I'd give this place 5 stars. I've come here 4x this year cus I loved it so much. The beauty, the great drinks. We usually have a bartender named Bart, he's super friendly and makes some darn good drinks. Very welcoming. I came here Saturday morning, for a friend's bday. We were Very let down. We had a bartender named Amanda, she was SO RUDE! As soon as we sat down, she expected us to know what we wanted. We asked if they had happy hour, she snapped at us and said NO, NOT ON THE WEEKENDS! We looked at the menu, she was pushy for us to hurry up and order. I can understand if she was busy but there were like 5 people there, including my friend and I. We ordered, her drinks were horrible. I dunno if she's new bartender or what but she has no clue how to make bar drinks. We ordered a lava flow and mango margarita. Lava flow was super sweet and couldn't even see the distinction of the coconut and strawberry. It just looked red. My margarita on the other head was just a let down. Tasted bad and I don't think she put any alcohol in there. Anyway, I ordered a shot of tequila (which was another $10) to add to my margarita because there was no alcohol. That made my drink a $22 drink. Really? Anyway, we didn't order anything else from her. She was rude, unpleasant, in a hurry to serve & there was no one there. She was too pushy and just acted like she didn't wanna be there. I love this beach bar and I give it 1 star Only beacuse of the view. Next time, I will definitely call to see what bartender is working cus I never want a drink/service...

The reason For this one star rating is the bartender named Amanda. She was SUPER RUDE to me during my visit at the beach front bar. I was waiting for my boyfriend who’s on his way to the beach so I ordered two Mai Tais with a friendly smile. She coldly responded that she wouldn’t serve me two cuz there’s only one person in present (this is absolutely unheard of). Fine, I said I would just order one for myself then. She paused a bit then stared at me angrily and said, “I need to see your ID!” I told her I didn’t have my ID at the moment but Im over 40 years old. She yelled even louder,”Well guess what, you still look under 40 and I won’t serve you because you don’t have an ID!!” I was very polite to her the whole time and didn’t understand why she was so rude. I respect the rule of IDing people but she didn’t have to be so mean and yelling to a customer. If she hates her job she shouldn’t work there. When I checked the reviews I realized I was not the only customer received her rudeness. Therefore I really hope the manager does something about it if customer service means something at your hotel. Please do something about this rude bartender...

Ordered a virgin mojito cuz even tho I'm not 21 I still wanted a fancy umbrella drink. I was charged $12.27 which I guess was the drink, a charge for bringing it to me in the pool and sales tax but for a virgin? The normal cost of a drink is $12. That doesn't seem like enough of a discount for no liquor. Also it was nasty. Like straight up lime juice with a few mint leaves thrown in. Couldn't taste the mint it was super sour and I couldn't even finish it. Really bummed. Got one at the yardhouse and it was amazing. I wonder how this place makes them? I get that I tied their hands with taking out the liquor ingridients...
