Tropicali — Restaurant in Hood River

made a quick stop couple weeks ago. its a clean place but it does have a strong smell of bleach the times I have come here. I think she's the owner who does not wash her hands after handling money. The times I have gone, everyone is great with wearing gloves but its crazy to me how its just her being the owner who doesn't use gloves or washes her hands after touching other things and money. The times I go I just hope she's not the one handling my food because she does charge you first, handles your cash, touches her typing/screen goes and grabs all the fruit and shoves the fruit with her bare hands into the cups. I love a good cup of horchata, but I was really disappointed with what what I was served. The horchata was really watered down, the taste of horchata was barely there like if I was just drinking a cup of water. I was also shocked and disgusted with how unsanitary the owner was in serving some customers after me WITHOUT gloves nor washed hands. Lovely place with a variety of delicious options, my favorite is the ‘Mango Loco’! Always craving it when I’m in town. I love the aesthetic of the shop but it’s definitely missing a few more decorations, there is a lot of awkward empty space that has a lot of potential. The shop is also kind of difficult to locate because you can’t really see the sign all too well, which a disappointing because this place is a hidden gem of mexican antojitos.
