Flew in from Atl to visit a friend. Leaving the airport, I was looking up things to do and came across this comedy club with a funny comedian Deray Davis starting in 1.5 hours. After googling, It was only about 22-25 minute from Birmingham Alabama airport.
Called to get ticket info after trying to understand where seats 79 & 80 were. I think rep name was Lora. She just professional and a peach over the phone. When we arrived she was in the box office and still very warm and inviting personality. Answered all my questions. *note seating is on a first come basis so if you see a seat number, know that they stopped doing assigned seating.
We purchased premium seating and was escorted to our seats. We sat at a booth. The booth was slightly raised higher than floor seats (about 8-10 inches higher) Great for me since Iām 5ā 4ā and donāt like floor seating because taller people always block my view. We arrived around early between 5:30- 5:40, doors opened at 5:15pm but we we still among the first few. Show started at 6:30. That gave plenty time to review menu and order and eat food before show started.
Waitress in our section came and took our drink and meal orders. Food and drinks came out in the order it was placed (meaning table order). Our food came out fast as heck! I ordered the chicken and andouille sausage pasta. šIt was flavorful. Other food ordered was chicken sandwich šwith friesš. I canāt remember the name of it. Drinks ordered: 2 custom Moscow mules, Strawberry delight (frozen drink)š¹ and a Liquid marijuana (not pictured). I also ordered a brownie dessert with ice cream. Good portions, the brownie was good but vanilla ice cream šØ was your basic store brand ice cream (not for us ice cream connoisseur who like haagen daz, lol) but what youād expect here.
Con: I think our waitress did forget to put our brownie order in. I mentioned it when we put drinks and food in but said I wanted it later on after the food. Then asked again when our 2nd round of drinks came out. Then had to say it a 3rd time. At that point the show was almost over and had ended about 10-12 minutes later.
But overall experience was great! I would recommend.
Other things to note, low lighting, doin used my phone flashlight š¦...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm overly dissatisfied, because I went due to being invited. So we "were forced" to order something (two of something's) no problem. My issue was and still is, I ordered a meal with onions rings being that (the server, Chris, asked me which do I prefer "fries or onions rings).. I replied (onions rings). Waited... Got my meal, just to have some dry as fries on my plate. Another server brought to me (I mentioned, I ordered rings not fries) his reply; okay (takes my entire plate) comes back just to say: the kitchen is closed and we are out of rings (forced me to accept what I did not want, on top of, taken my food away from me) his reply; But I will have fries taken off. (Instead of saying the kitchen is near closing can you order a drink, or something we don't have to cook, they give me old food and not my exact order, table number four). Chris comes back. And asked my issue, I replied: I asked for rings, the other guy said he would have this taken off (Chris replied): you can't take it off, And we gave you fries because there arent anymore onions rings. I got mad and still paid for my meal, being I did not want to ruin the remainder my night. I paid 30$ for a meal that wasn't correct and, it was was cold. Disappointed I'm never going again. (I feel like I couldn't get the service I deserved due to my color and appearance, and folks just love money so much, they won't correct their flaw, they make you deal with it and it's your money ) my friend whom had ordered, chicken fingers had some green slimy looking thing in the middle (she stated it looked like it was placed there) I'm never going back, free or not! her food made her vomit (luckily they didn't make her pay for hers) wish we had pictures but that night was so devastating and distracting. The comedians was decent funny though. They really need to do better with those steep prices. The food could atleast be FRESH Well done, good and HOT and folks orders needs to be CORRECT, we paying with our hard earned monies.. Money hungry folks! Thanks! Philly cheese steak with potatoe skins. Just careless P. S. I did not eat my food, I left it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat comedy, but the service? A complete punchline; just not the funny kind.
Took my mom, visiting from the UK, to her very first comedy club experience to see Henry Cho at the Stardome on a Thursday evening. The show was entertaining, but unfortunately, the service was about as delightful as a root canal. We arrived at 6:30pm and were seated, optimistic and hungry for both laughs and food. By 6:45 pm, our server finally made her grand entrance. She took another 20-25 minutes to bring us a Diet Coke and a bottle of beer. I donāt know if she was performing a magic trick with those beverages, but they sure took a while to materialize.
Fast forward to 8:00 pm. No sign of our food, but the server magically reappears, dumping a bowl of complimentary chips in front of us. "Sorry, the fried food is taking a long time," she says. I mean, at this point, if the food were any slower, it would be fossilizing.
At 8:45 pm, when Henry Cho was well into his set, we finally got our food. If we knew it would take almost two hours to serve a chicken burger and hamburger, with fries, we would've made a pact to eat before the show. The burger was so greasy, it looked like it had been deep-fried in a pool of regret. If it had been a regular restaurant, we would've walked out long before that, but alas, we were stuck in the comedy show purgatory, forced to endure poor service while trying to focus on enjoying the performance.
The kitchenās pace was so slow, we started to wonder if it would be ready by Henryās Saturday show. Iāve seen snails move faster than the kitchen. Almost two hours to cook a basic burger and fries?
The thing is, service should enhance the experience, not turn it into a test of patience and self-control. Particularly when thereās an enforced food & beverage purchase requirement. It's like the show was a rollercoaster, and the service was the emergency stop button.
I'd highly recommend improving the service so the only thing people leave with is a smile, not a growling stomach and a...
