We had the most disrespectful service. Not only is the building not ADA friendly the wait staff told my father in law move his wheel chair from the end of the table to another position at the table from which he could not fit under correctly so they could service food to other customers.
“ADA REQUIREMENTS for tables and seating state that areas must allow individuals with disabilities to dine with their friends and family in a comfortable and inclusive environment, without feeling excluded or limited by physical barriers. Your restaurant layout should be designed with accessibility in mind.
Clear Floor Space: The ADA mandates that restaurants must provide clear floor space at each dining table to accommodate individuals who use wheelchairs or mobility devices. This clear floor space should have a minimum width of 30 inches and a minimum depth of 48 inches. It allows individuals to easily maneuver their wheelchairs and transfer to and from the table. Table Height: To ensure accessibility, the ADA specifies that at least 5% of the dining surfaces in a restaurant must have a height between 28 inches and 34 inches. This range accommodates individuals who use wheelchairs or have limited mobility, allowing them to comfortably sit at the table and dine without any obstructions. Aisles and Pathways: Restaurants must maintain clear aisles and pathways throughout the dining area. The ADA specifies that these pathways should have a minimum width of 36 inches. Wheelchair-Accessible Routes: Restaurants should provide wheelchair-accessible routes from the entrance to the dining area and throughout the establishment. These routes should be wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs and should not have any steps or barriers that impede accessibility. In addition, any ramps or slopes present should meet specific ADA requirements to ensure safe and convenient access.”
Hoagies needs to do better not only with requirements but staff that aren’t rude, disrespectful and untrained on how to interact with customers with these needs. Common decency to someone in a wheel chair seems to be a basic human right that NONE of the staff...
Read more**Worst customer service ever, checked in (two of us) at 9:10 for guests of six , for around 9:30, no bigger table available yet, we waited for one to open. At 9:25, larger round table aviailable. We (2) were seated at the large table at 9:30, at 9:35 a party of five came in and the server asked if our other party was here yet, we said not yet but almost here. The server then stated at 9:36 that we would have to give up the table to the new guests that just arrived??. We did and were told that another larger table or two together would be soon, so we agreed to let the guests of five have our table. Our other guests arrived at 9:38 and we all waited until 9:59 when the other larger table (by the noisy open kitchen door) became available. We were seated and ordered 2 small milk cups for the two younger kids with us. Because of dietary needs for both, they always bring (their food) with them. Our server the came to our table and very bluntly and loudly stated you "cannot" have their own food at pur table due to #&&@%% regulations and stated we has to buy their cheerios or something else??? We were floored, we all stated that this was enough and all we could take and were leaving. After all of this waiting time and disscust, she insisted that we pay for the milks that hadnt even been touched. How did we like the food? we wont ever know. With service like this "beware". The business owner "should" conduct a meeting with their employees and discuss this review. Just maybe it would help your bad...
Read moreI am not one for poor reviews often but my experience this morning left me wanting to leave some constructive suggestions. I have been coming to this location for the last 2 years usually once to twice a week as I work just down the road. I have always left full and with a smile. This morning I wanted to bring someone new here for a birthday breakfast as I couldn’t think of a better place to go for the food and atmosphere. Our server had only visited our table twice in the hour we have been here, and never refilled drinks. We had questions about some menu items the server was unable to articulate or produce an answer on to start with. She missed a few items we ordered and never rang them in. I had to find another staff member to help correct the mistake. The food that was ordered came out incorrectly and not as explained by our server. (We wanted a country fried steak) she told us the 5oz steak would be that meal. It came as a standard steak. I understand people can make mistakes and it gets busy. When I asked the server for the hash browns she missed on the order and why the steak came like that and not a country fried steak like we requested she abruptly walked away to grab forks which she also missed. After 5 min of waiting for forks to eat with she stopped by but walked off immediately. Unfortunately this is a case of a poor server unable to preform to the standard I believe this place should uphold. Younger lady with...
