First time eating here and there's some things I need to point out about my visit. Food is good. I am not Mexican but my wife is so shes really the judge when it comes to her type of food (I eat anything.. lol). Here is the problem and the reason why the 2 stars.. Service is so so... I'll explain.. the menu can be misleading as it is not clear, specially when it comes to price and the the servers just offer you stuff in a way that is misleading. You ask for a plate and the waiter ask you if you would like your queso fundido with rajas or with chorizo. They never mention its additional and it is not something that's included with your plate.. you only find out later when you get your bill that you were charged a dollar more for the chorizo on the cheese. I ordered the Parillada San Valentin for 2 person which on the printed menu showed 2 options as $20.99 or for $2 more you could have it mixed with Sirloin and Pastor style(so you assume the 20.99 is for only 1 of the two meats). It doesnt specify on the menu that a 1 type meat is a different price or if there is a price difference between choosing Sirloin only or Carne al Pastor only.. you assume by the menu its 20.99 for 1 meat (either sirloin or Pastor) OR 22.99 if you want it mixed with both.. WRONG! I chose sirloin and when the bill came at the end I was charged 23.99 for it(not 20.99 or 22.99) when I brought it up the waiter didn't know what to say and when she called someone else to clarify she said that the sirloin is more expensive. She tried to convince me by showing me in her digital cash register that the price was correct but nowhere in the menu it was specified. So not only they charged me $3 above what was printed but they also charged $1 extra for chorizo on the cheese that they made it seem like it was included with the plate. That in my book is called being dishonest and its definitely something that would make me think twice about going back or recommending this place. Next time(if there is a next time) my tip wont be as generous because despite of the inconvenience I left you guys 15% tip.
A bill that was supposed to be at max 40 bucks.. turned out to be 50 + tip and we only ordered 1 adult plate and 2 kids flautas...
Read moreWatch your credit or bank card accounts with this place. I went in to buy some caldo that cost me $10.07. When I was checking my bank account I noticed that there were 2 separate charges, $10.07 and $10.00 from this same place and same date. Once the charges cleared the bank, I was charged a total of $20.07. Someone added a $10 tip to the receipt after I left even though I marked $0 tip on the receipt. I went in to confront the restaurant and the same ladies (cashier and cook) were the only ones in the restaurant. I told the lady cashier what happened and she tried to play it off like she didn’t know what happened. Then she told me that she would have to go through the receipt book to check and I told her to check because this issue needed to be resolved immediately. She got upset and said it would take time and I told her I was going to call the police and make a report. She told me that why would I need to call the police if nothing was stolen. I told her they stole $10 from me. She got really upset and pulled $10 from the cash register and gave them to me, without even verifying if the receipt showed I did not leave a tip. Leads me to believe she knew what I was talking about. Be careful when paying with a credit out debit card here. Never coming...
Read moreI live 30 seconds away from this location. You would think it's a convenience to have a restaurant so close by for those nights when cooking isn't an option, right? WRONG! Tried it once years ago, hated it. Tried it again last year, it wasn't good. I tried it one last time on Sunday night. NEVER AGAIN! This place isn't good. Seriously. First of all, I ordered a parillada for 4 with buche and al pastor. I got sirloin and al pastor. Annoying, but its not a huge deal. Except the sirloin has zero flavor and it was soooo greasy! It was literally sitting in a pool of oil, then it would crumble into pieces in my mouth with a single bite. It was like eating the cookie that fell into the cup of milk and stayed there until you finished the rest of the cookies. Except cookies are delicious! Anyway... then the potatos were all placed upside down in the container. BUTTER...EVERYWHERE! The "charro" beans juice was so thick and brown. It was gross. Finally, the queso fundido.. I asked for rajas. They added thin slices of a jalapeno. Thats not rajas. And the cheese was crusty along the edges. Its really no surprise this place doesn't get busy. They cut corners and have terrible service....
