I visited the Cracker Barrell in Southaven on January 5, 2025. My server was Deporia S. I am so dissatisfied with the server. We visited to celebrate my 2 nephews' 6th and 11th birthday as a family. I arrived at 10:12 to find my sister waiting and she had been there since 10. We were seated about 10:30 am. We were waiting for a server to come to our table for about 15 minutes. I wanted to leave but being as we were there for a celebration I just stayed with my sister. When the server finally came out, she was rushing, fast talking and we told her we were ready to order she said let her get the drinks first (first issue). We've been sitting long enough to know what we want, go ahead and take our order. Then it took a while for her to bring the drinks out. She finally took our order and I was inquiring about getting the biscuit breakfast on the children's menu but since we don't eat pork can they sub it for two chicken tenders. She said no. She said, "just tell me what you want and I will create it for you. I said everything will be charged separately right? And she said yes. I said I am not trying to pay way more to create a meal. I just want this meal sub the pork for chicken tenders. They charge I think she said $6 for 2 tenders. ABSOLUTELY NOT! I will be overcharged. Then she recommended the grandfather's meal ($14) and for something I didn't want. Then I asked to speak with a manager, and he said no also. He said the same thing as her. Yes of course, she talked to him prior to him coming out talking to me. I expressed I should not be forced to pay for something or order something I do not want. So, I did not order food. Then it took over 40 minutes to get the food. Then when the server brought the food out she was still rushing and bumped me with the tray. She handed my 13-year-old niece an extremely hot plate. She did not check back on us often like she should. She cheated my sister out of her biscuits, and lied and said that is the ones that comes with the meal but it wasn't and didn't bring my other sister's complete meal out. She didn't bring enough napkins for the size party we had. My son did order, but I refused to order since I could not be accommodated. The french toast and pancake edges were burnt and you could taste the burnt. Some of the food was ok. I did do a taste test on a few items at our table. The tater tot casserole is just unmelted cheese and kind of overcooked tots (since we do not eat pork), they asked for no bacon. Would you eat the tots in the picture? They could have and should have done a lot better. Craker Barrell doesn't care about its customers or something would change. It's been years since I have been to a cracker barrell. But if you look up the reviews on every Cracker Barrell in Memphis and West Memphis, the reviews are absolutely horrible. Horrible experience after horrible experience. I did contact customer care and made a complaint as well. Come on Cracker Barrell get it together, do better please! So, where do I go to use the rest of my gift card? I did ask to speak to the manager again as I was leaving and let him know how disappointed I was with the service and I asked, you all would rather lose money than accommodate a guest? He said they cannot make substitutions. He was so nonchalant as if he did not care. YES, YOU Can! If you want to satisfy a guest and get business, you can. But it's just me. one person, therefore, it doesn't matter. Stop taking the mistreatment at the overly priced restaurants. They are ripping us off by overinflating and then we are paying for bad service. Wake up people! Send a message. NO MORE! Stop spending your money. Read moreWe were traveling Black Friday. Checked in 11:08am. Seated 12:58pm. Yes, almost 2hrs after told 45min wait. They did start telling people 90min wait. Store was packed w/ people waiting for a table. Also Lots of large parties 6-9 people. Short handed on Servers, therefore I Think bus boys were doubling as inexperienced servers. But management was working diligently with what they had under circumstances. My biggest disappointment was actually that Lunch is no longer a full Menu. There was only one salad choice w/ chicken. No Grilled Fish. No Rainbow Trout. One steak choice. Sides were plentiful & delicious. Steaks were ordered Medium, served Well Done. Our Server was obviously overwhelmed as Serving was probably Not his job. Had to wait for Utensils, then napkins came at the end of the meal; then kitchen finally sent out biscuits & cornbread as we finished entrees; he had to go ask the kitchen about several things before we could complete our order. I spoke to Mngr afterwards about how I understood the situation & gave him cash to distribute to the 10 servers there that were doing their best. I assumed people were disappointed & not tipping generously because of it. I never blame Server for what goes wrong in the kitchen. This was not really even a kitchen issue. It was an issue of Black Friday Shoppers, After Thanksgiving Travelers & possibly a dash of Servers/Kitchen Staff took vacation. They kept things moving as fast as possible. I applaud their efforts. Read moreDo not go to this location. We were seated, the waitress never came to our table originally, we had to ask another waitress to go get our waitress so we could be serviced. So when she got to our table and took our orders she already had an attitude from jump. We waited another 45 min as we literally watched our waitress constantly walk pass us. She Didn't check on us, ask us if we needed anything, nor did she give us an update concerning our food. I literally tried to flag her down, we made eye contact and she still didn't come to our table. After asking another manager about our food and another waitress that wasn't our waitress, we were finally told that our food was coming out. A different person brings the food out other than the waitress, and the food was cold, and that let us know that our food had been just sitting back there for minutes at a time. Because keep in mind, we already had been waiting for long period. After our food comes out, our originally waitress then decides to ask us if we are okay a table over from us, she didn't even have enough respect to approach our table. At that point we told her to longer speak to us because she wasn't doing her job concerning us the entire time. We were sitting in a spot where we could look through the kitchen and we see our waitress along with other employees staring at us from the kitchen and making comments.
