Nazifs was an amazing Halal Turkish spot that I somehow never heard of. I recently traveled to Turkey and the food at this restaurant was much better than some of the places in the actual country. I ordered the Wrapmachun which I assume isn’t a traditional dish but it’s basically a Lamachun (ground beef on flatbread) that is wrapped around a kebab, I chose the Adana which was spicier. I also got the Lamachun spicy because I love spicy. We also got a couple of mixed meat platters that included some vegetables and rice. The lamb chops from the platter had a slightly too big fat cap but it was perfect and gave the full original lamb flavor to the best quality. The wrapmachun I ate was just perfect, it wasn’t dry or tough but it was juicy, tender and had the perfect level of spiciness and it was absolutely delicious and paired well with the garlic sauce. All their lamb dishes are very well done providing an original lamb flavor with little to no spice as intended. All the meat was very tender, soft, and juicy. The presentation of the dishes were also beautifully executed. Pleasing to the eye and the tongue. The service and staff was also very nice and the waiters were very friendly and made sure we were accommodated to the best of their ability. The ambience of this restaurant is also very nice, they had a plant wall on the front glass wall and TVs displaying Turkish landscapes along with cozy light fixtures and slightly dimmed lights. The single downside is the wait time for the food to arrive. Personally I feel like the quality of food should match the time I have to wait and I got just that here. I did have to wait for about 15-20 minutes for the food but it was very well worth it. Other than, perfect...
Read moreI don't like to leave a negative review but I do realize that this is not a Michelin starred restaurant, but dear me, I also think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go out to eat. Unfortunately, the standard at this restaurant was very POOR. Where do I start? Having entered the restaurant, we had to wait for several minutes to be greeted and seated, when finally, a barely English spoken waitress said hi to us. By the way this is during Ramadan so definitely you shouldn't go there during that time (food is not fresh and bread was very hard). The menu cards very ABSOLUTELY disgusting, covered in oil and all sorts of dirt. We ordered couple waters and soon enough the 'over enthusiastic' waitress came back to take our orders, nearly siting down on my friends lap AND I AM NOT JOKING ! Honestly, I been most of the Turkish restaurants in town. Because I used to work as a waitress myself, so I know what it’s like sometimes, but for god's sake, if you charge people, and quite a bit of money, you must give something back like SERVICE. The food and service were absolutely disappointing. The waitress had extremely bad mood…she was yelling and arguing with another group of customers on the other table ( I am a waitress I am not a slave) while we were finishing up. I assume owner was not there but I noticed owner at the door while we were leaving. He walked in blowing his heavy smell e-cigarette. We will never go there again!!! It was terrible !!!Don't be fooled, this place has nothing to do with Turkish food, and the service was very poor. KFC would have been a better choice!
This is a very good example of a very...
Read moreCame in on Wednesday around 1:20. Ordered 2 lahmacun (one spicy, one non spicy) and an extra mixed grill (with the lamb chop.) The lahmacun was $7 (not too bad, if it deserved the price) and the extra mixed grill was $25 (exorbitant imo.) The nonspicy lahmacun didn't really have much flavor, and the spicy one had just a hint of spice. Had I not squeezed the lemon juice and added the onion and lettuce (which is included in the order) I wouldn't have tasted much spice (pretty bland.) The mixed grill was the biggest ripoff I've ever seen. Sure, the chicken tastes very good (it has a smokey flavor) and the other meats also tasted ok, but if I'm paying $25 I want lamb CHUNKS and what came in the order was more like lamb tartare. The TINIEST pieces of lamb I've ever seen. Sure, it tasted good, but I didn't pay $25 to get a few chicken chunks, a single lamb chop, a couple flat pieces of ground meat, rice, fries, lettuce, and onions. I would pay something like $16, nowhere near their ridiculous price. Also, the fries tasted like old oil, definitely not clean oil. Finally we get to the service. The place was empty. There were literally 4 other people and yet it took 40 minutes for my order to be completed. I don't think I'll give them another chance. Maybe if they reduced the price to reflect their portion size, I'd consider going back, but honestly for the $42 I payed I would have gotten much better food...
