Olde Towne Kolaches — Restaurant in Houston

Was working on the ambulance and my partner and I stopped there for breakfast after a call. At first the atmosphere felt like a cool place but the employee behind the counter didn't seem thrilled to answer questions about their kolaches. Her tone was impatient when we were the only ones there. Kolaches we're WAY too expensive for the quality. Every kolache was mostly bread. Kolaches that were supposed to have cheese in them barely had any cheese. Bread was good but the kolaches were very dry and had to put some salsa on them to make them better. I spent $14 on 3 kolaches and was still hungry afterwards. The polish kolache was supposed to have cheese but I didn't see any and the sausage was low quality and didn't taste like an almost $5 kolache. Could've gone to Denny's for a full meal for that price. The portion of food inside the kolaches is wayyyy too small. Will not be coming back. Went in this morning to place an order for my children's school. Before we ordered we noticed that one of the men in the kitchen who was handling food didn't have a mask on. I don't mean he didn't have it over his nose or something like that, I mean he didn't have it on at all. I mentioned something to the lady working there but she could care less.

Makes me question supporting any business that can't follow simple health codes. What's next, forgetting to wash your hands after using the restroom then touching the food? We will take our business to other places that can follow guidelines or actually care about...

i absolutely love this place. i would come here every day if i could. it's family owned. the last owner works there with her son. it's clean, well priced, and the kolaches are the best i have ever had. you must try the bacon and cheese as well as the blueberry cream cheese. also, if you're on a budget, she sells cheap bags of kolaches of a mixed variety that were prepared the day before that didn't sell. the owner is very sweet and makes a point to really get to know her regular customers. i went in the other day, and hadn't been in awhile, and she was so...
