It seems like nowadays every bar is a cross between a playground and a bar. If you are looking for a more mature lounge environment with a nod back to the speakeasies of yesteryear, check out Birdie’s Den located in the Montrose area. You won’t find a bar full of TV’s here - in fact there aren’t any inside*. Instead, you’ll find plenty of cozy seating throughout, perfect for groups or one-on-one conversations. And a huge bar with plenty of seating if you just want to cozy up to the bar and chat up some of Houston’s best bartenders. Inside also features a pool table as well as a large table-top in the middle of the main area, perfect for larger groups or parties. Outside you’ll find multiple outdoor patio areas with TVs if you are in the mood to catch your favorite sporting event. There is a kitchen onsite putting out a full menu of freshly made thin-crust pizzas, paninis and bocadillos - a nod to the bar owner’s Argentinian heritage. The cocktail list includes some fun twists on the classics, some creative newcomers, and there is also beer and wine on tap. Overall, this is a great addition to the Houston bar scene, offering a more intimate and less conventional experience than todays typical offering. Whether you are on a first date, meeting up with an old friend, celebrating a birthday, or just looking for a friendly seat at the bar, Birdie’s Den has you covered. *Save for one that features a full-time mural but can be re-purposed for special events – think slideshows for parties, or World Cup/Superbowl.

a fun new neighborhood bar. it’s nicer inside than you’d expect. there’s plenty of parking outside. service was wonderful. we’ll be back to try more drinks. the only issue, which is a non-issue, is that the font on the menu is very hard to read. there are parts of the letters that are very thin. if the menu is ever reprinted, please consider a different font. prices would be cool, too!

Thank you Karen for hosting Tio Roberto's birthday here. It was beautiful, cozy and one of kind. Even though Its close to me its worth visiting again soon. Please let us know if your having any events in the future. Highly recommend, especially Argentinos who are missing there kind of foods.
