My wife and I made reservations and dined at Brasas downtown Houston. I can honestly say this is the worst treatment and service I have ever had at a restaurant. The first issue that I encountered is that there is no valet parking and I had to park two blocks away from the restaurant. Once we entered the restaurant we were asked to wait because our table was not ready. The reservation was at 8:00 and we were seated at 8:30. At the table no one came to assist us for five minutes. When they finally showed up we were given some sparkling water and a sweet red wine recommendation. Turns out the wine they brought out was a $12 bottle that is sold at Walmart. Anyways, we went to the salad bar which is tiny compared to most we have been to. My wife got a bowl of lobster bisque along with her salad. At the table we noticed there was not any spoons in the cutlery. We asked several servers to please bring a spoon but it was an act of congress to make that happen. Finally after seriously 15 minutes a spoon was brought to out table. Ok, now we are ready for the cuts of meat so we flip our card to let them know so. The first was shrimp, seasoned spectacularly! Next they brought out chicken wings which did not have any seasoning at all. Then we waited…….. and watched as other tables were served multiple cuts of meat that included lamb chops and steak. The next time we were serviced was with yet another piece of chicken this time wrapped in bacon along with a piece of overly salty sausage. Then we waited… and watched other tables get serviced prime cuts of meat as we sat with our cards flipped on the side that we want service. My wife called the hostess over and told her about the unacceptable service we were having and the hostess stated that kitchen staff was limited. Seemed to us it was only limited to serving us and the other table that were Asians. After speaking to the hostess the situation did not change and I got frustrated and requested to close out our tab. When I reviewed the tab, I noticed they charged us $42 dollars for a $12 bottle of wine. That was the icing on the cake for me that we will never return to this restaurant again. You may ask why we might have been singled out. My assumption is that we were treated as less than because the color of our skin. I am African American and my wife is Dominican. We were dressed very well, better than most people who were there in dirty sneakers and sweatpants. This whole situation pushed me to do something I never do, which is write a review. Very disappointed with this treatment. I thought the world had moved passed such...
Read moreOur party of three went to dinner last night (Saturday) around 7:00 pm. We spent over $240 and I will never return. All three of us had bad stomach aches about an hour after we ate and I actually ended up nauseous and throwing up later that evening. Our food was abysmal and a huge disappointment. The first round of meats were cold, but did have a nice flavor. Little did we know, this was the best part of the meal. When we sat, they asked what meats we would like. We asked for parmesean pork and lamb chops. It took them over 50 minutes to get them out to us, which by that time we were full and ready to leave. The other rounds of meats were hot, but had ZERO flavor; they were just hot meat. There was no salt, no seasoning. It's like they had no idea people were coming to dinner. One round of fajita steak wss just raw. We asmed for medium rare but these pieces were plain raw. Two bowls of cheese rolls were so undercooked I had to spit them out in a napkin. The interior cheese had a granulated texture and separated. The lobster bisque had a nice flavor but used imitation meat which was a disappointment. After all that, we just wanted to leave. We will never return. I spent way too much money to get sick and have to throw it up. I don't know how this place stays open. We've been to dozens of Brazilian restaurants like this, but none have ever made me sick. Save you money people and go...
Read moreOkay so we were going to another Brazilian steak house we usually go to, but they were full so we found a reservation at this one for Valentine’s Day. We get there, and there is no parking, so you gotta pay $17 for valet to start. Then you go in and you wait forever to be seated, once you’re seated, it takes forever to bring the cheese bread out. The salad bar has almost no options compared to other Brazilian steak houses, the salad bar looks like a hotel breakfast bar, two types of cheese (mozarilla and guda), chicken salad, mushroom, tomato, and some other simple stuff.
Then once you flip your card to be ready to be receive the meat, it takes forever to bring the meat to serve you, and in between each around of meat like 10-15 minutes for two bites. And no it is not because they were busy for valentines it was not busy at all at the time we went. Plus for two people with only two vodka drinks $182 for terrible service, food that taste disgusting, and empty salad bar. If want to try a Brazilian steak house try chama gaúcha or even fogo de chão is better . Believe me my wife is Brazilian and we go to Brazilian places all the time. If you check my reviews history I never leave a review unless it’s a horrible experience, and last time I left a review was years ago. Hope this help people who...
