My 1st time here and a bit surprised. Here was my order: $ 5.69 Shack Burger comes w/ Single Patty of Beef Single Slice of Cheese Lettuce Tomato Shack Sauce $ N/C Added Onions $ 2.99 Crinkled Cut Fries $ 6.99 Chick-N-Bites,10 Count $ N/C. Honey Mustard Pck (2) $ 5.39 Oreo Cookies & Cream Milkshake $ 0.50 Add Malt $ 0.50 Add Whipped Cream $22.06 Subtotal $ 1.82 Tax@ 8.25% $23.88 Grand Total
Now then; the Beef they use is advertised as Grass Fed Angus Beef. So yes, a higher grade of Beef helps explain the cost of the Burger. However, if you ever ate at McDonald's, this is equivalent to their Cheese Burger on McDonald's, Dollar Menu Board. The only difference, is that it comes with a piece of flimsy Lettuce that's about 3 fingers wide and and half the length. Along with 2 slices of Roma Tomatoes. As for the Cheese, couldn't taste it. The surprising element however, was that the Bun opened up like a Hot Dog Bun. Thus, making it appear wider, until you unwrap the burger. That's when you realize how small the Burger is and that a Hockey Puck is twice its size. The Crinkled Cut Fries was definitely worth the price. And highly recommend. The 10 count Chick-N-Bites were alright, but when you grab a piece, the breading has a tendency to fall off. Thus, can be messy. As for the cost, it's not bad. The Oreo Cookies and Cream Milkshake however, wasn't worth the price. The additional charge for the Malt and Whipped Cream of $1.00 add on to the shake is fine. Yet the 10 oz cup for a Malted Shake with Whipped Cream is not worth the $6.39 grand total for this item. Overall, the food was bland and over priced (with exception to the cost of the Fries and Chick-N-Bites). The Service was very good and the place very clean. You had a person constantly cleaning and disinfecting. Also, this is not to be considered a Fast Food Restaurant. They prepare their foods to order. So don't expect your order in a minute or two. With all this, said and done, I even had to laugh at the size of their trays. There smaller than your average tray, smaller than your school trays. Yet remarkably, they'd fill your Tray-Top Table on an Airplane flying Coach. In conclusion, this is a some what of a Hit-N-Miss. Just depends on what you order and what your taste buds liked; seasoned or unseasoned. And how much your...
Read moreWhat a pleasant and attentive crew. Kuddos to them. Flavors were good but my Lord, $48 for three very very small single cheeseburgers, 2 fries, 2 shakes and a bottled water. This place is way overpriced and will never best Whataburger or many others. Again $48 for three burgers fries and shakes for lunch. What a joke! Sorry but 4 oz "Angus" burgers and mini sized shakes not worth it. Btw, aside from a breed of cattle, the term Angus does not imply that the beef is organic, natural, or of a higher grade than any other type of beef. According to the USDA "All fresh meat qualifies as "natural." Products labeled "natural" cannot contain any artificial flavor or flavoring, coloring ingredient, chemical preservative, or any other artificial or synthetic ingredient; and the product and its ingredients are not more than minimally processed (ground, for example). All products claiming to be natural should be accompanied by a brief statement which explains what is meant by the term "natural." So stop with the gimmicks to explain your reason for...
Read moreFirst and last time here. $19 for a basic burger, a side, and a drink. Do I get service with that? Apparently not, despite what the electric order machines tell you. Gal behind the counter can't be bothered to show basic courtesy to customers. She pushed an empty cup into my hand, when the lemonade is behind the service counter. No one takes pride in the restaurant's appearance, either; photos of the floor from the area surrounding my table. It's been 30 minutes, and I hope I get my food soon.
UPDATE: Received a text message that my food was ready after 35 minutes. Again, gal behind throws counter can't be bothered to follow protocol and bring it to me. Everything in my order was as basic as can be. I'll give the chef points for a little pink in the middle to leave a moist patty.
Now, as I waited, I got an ad for Luby's. $12 for chicken cordeon bleu, 2 sides, and a roll. Would you rather spend $20 to have someone yell out your name, or a meal with table service and a nominal tip for a job well done? To ask the question is...
